does anyone remember the orginal usage of the word "chinachin" or the usage of the word "china" when discussing chins in general.

I think it dates back to 2005/06 when the world was hyping Audley Harrison and one man referred to his chin as "shattering like cheap china".

It was on an old forum called Boxing Insider. Several posters on this site were also members of that one.

When chinachin was first used irt rating chins, it was by a poster named.........????????

Exactly where and when terms like "glass jaw" and "china chin" began to be used to describe poor punch resistance I am not sure. This would be an interesting historical study, actually.

In any event, however the term developed, it's pretty clear that Deontay Wilder has one. I haven't seen a touted prospect fight such pathetic "opposition" for this long in my 35 years of following the sport. It is clear his handlers know he can't take a punch.

my parents had a life magazine with floyd patterson, with a broken pain of glass superimposed over his jaw on the cover. the caption was "the man with the glass jaw". i remember asking my dad if he really had a glass jaw, as i was around eight.
