im not a big fan of wikipedia as its simply an opinion but why dont you take up your argument with them? it appears that the wording should be changed from spinks "being considered the lineal champion" to spinks "was the linal champion."

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Tyson_vs._Michael_Spinks

perhaps the author did not feel that spinks, who no longer held a belt as he was stripped for not facing his mandatory in tucker, was no longer deserving of being considered the lineal champion(generally though of as being the best in the division), after deciding to face unranked gerry cooney who had fought one round in two and a half years.

now, why dont you take the vcash ban bet with me so we no longer have to interact until december 31, 2013, where the person with the least amount of vcash leaves the forum?

your obsession with me...its not normal and borderline psychotic.

are you going to post the linked page, and not a captioned black box that you can fabricate, where i supposedly agreed to your view count bet?

is it possible under the immense pressure of losing so much perceived value of your 1,885,000 view counts in the last month may have made you want to enforce a bet with me but you must realize that there has to be an offer and acceptance for a bet to be valid.

do you have a link to your offer and my acceptance?

by the way, can you explain why realsoulja, who proclaims to be so knowledgeable about the fight game, is down 64.7 percent of his vcash bankroll?

and why realsoulja will not accept a vcash ban bet with me where the person with the least amount of vcash leaves this forum on december 31, 2013?

it should be a complete "mis-match"

That point you said about Vitali above was one of the dumbest things I have ever read on ESB and I have been pwning folks here for years so that is a major statement . You saying just because Vitali came back out of retirement he would still be lineal champ.

Vitali Klitsckho has never been the lineal champ you dumb truck , You don't know **** about boxing:deal

And even if Vitali was the lineal champ, so what, when he retired the title becomes vacant. If Rocky Marciano comes back from the dead today does he get reinstated the Lineal champion just because he used to be one before he retired undefeated.:patsch

And I never claimed the lineal champ is considered the best of the division. Nor did I claim wikipedia is correct. But you need to do the homework I set you so you don't make a fool out of yourself like you did above by claiming Vitali was the lineal champion.

vitali fought corey sanders for lewis vacant wbc belt which had a lineage to the lennoxs linear championship

said author also makes reference to spinks forfeiture of the lineal champion status after getting stripped by the ibf for failing to fight tucker for cooney. perhaps you should argue with him instead of me.

and another reference to vitali/sanders fight having an inference to lineal ramifications

    http://www.eastsideboxing.com/weblog/news.php?p=1007&more=1

here Ring Magazine makes a determination that the sanders/vitali fight would start a Ring Magazine Lineal Champion.

Vitali, on the other hand, was about to achieve heavyweight glory. He beat Kirk Johnson (TKO 2) in a WBC title eliminator in December 2003 becoming the mandatory challenger for Lennox Lewis`s WBC title. This brought about the possibility of a much-anticipated rematch with The Ring Magazine Lineal Champion. Shortly after this Lewis announced his retirement and the megafight never happened.

A bout for the vacant WBC title was set for 24th April 2004 between Vitali and his brother`s conqueror Corrie Sanders. There was also something more meaningful at stake than the WBC title. The Ring Magazine announced that it will recognize the winner of this bout between its top-rated contenders as the new Ring Magazine Champion, starting a new lineage after the one that ended when Lennox Lewis retired as a Champion a couple of months earlier.

please, your obsession with me needs to stop.

youre very close to going full ****** here

Maybe you wasn't following boxing during that time.

Vitali was #1, Chris Byrd was #2, and Corrie Sanders was #3, after Lennox Lewis's retirement.

The vacant lineal championship is determined by a box off between the #1 and #2 off the division. The Ring Magazine even considered Byrd #2 but decided to make the Vitali vs Sanders for the Ring belt.

so if vitali was indeed considered to be the lineal champ at one point does that mean "you dont know shi-t about boxing" as you say?

now please, stop with the internet stalking.

youre blatantly displaying psychological problems here on an open internet forum.

what do you not understand about the Ring Magazine recognizing the winner of the vitali/sanders fight as the new lineal champion starting a new lineage?

youre ill and youre obsessed with me.

i no longer want to offer you a vcash ban bet.

i want nothing to do with you or have any affiliation with you whatsoever.

    goodbye.

Vitali was considered The Ring champion which does not always represent true lineage. Regardless, even as the ring champion why should be he reinstated lineal champ after coming back from retirement almost 4 years later?

Now you understand why your above post was foolish, how can he come back after being retired for almost 4 years and still remain The Ring champ:patsch

    :yep

Quincy was adament to argue about fake convertible Benz's, view counts, and VCash ban bets instead of boxing for the last few weeks while squeeling to the moderators for help. So he was lured into a boxing discussion where he was no longer able to hide behind a VCash ban bet or a moderator and was outclassed, outboxed and brutally knocked the truck out :deal

You become the Lineal Champ by beating the Lineal Champ - or, as Wlad has, by being so dominant or on top so long everyone accepts that you are then best then you start a new lineage - not by winning a title he once held but gave up. I refer you to the case of Foreman. Moorer beat Holyfield to become Lineal Champ then lost that title to Foreman along with the WBA and IBF Titles. Foreman then refused to fight the WBA mandatory and was stripped of that title then refused to fight a rematch with Axel Schulz and was stripped of the IBF Title but remained the Lineal Champ until he was beaten by Shannon Briggs.

ring magazine recognizing vitali as the lineal champion

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_The_Ring_world_champions#Heavyweight

    http://www.606v2.com/t10394-ring-magazine-lineal-champions#316819

the author below believes that spinks should no longer be considered the lineal champion because of his ducking of tucker to fight an unranked cooney who had fought one round in two and a half years and electing not to give tony the opportunity to become the lineal champ. fighting tangstad in his prior title defense where spinks was a 7-1 favorite also weakened his credibilty compounded by the fact that tyson went on to beat tucker

    http://www.arcaneknowledge.org/sports/linealprob.htm

In 1987, when Michael Spinks ducked undefeated Tony Tucker to fight Gerry Cooney,[4] who had fought only one round in the last two years, he opened the road to forfeiture of his championship. He was duly stripped by the IBF, and passed on an opportunity to enter the unification tournament promoted by Don King and HBO. Meanwhile, Mike Tyson convincingly won the championships of all three sanctioning bodies to make himself the undisputed champion. It is unrealistic to insist that Spinks continued to be the true champion after Tyson had won universal public acclaim and offical recognition as champion by defeating Tucker.[5] No knowledgeable boxing fan seriously believed Spinks was the peer of Tyson, who was considered invincible at the time. When the Tyson-Spinks “Superfight” finally happened in 1988, Spinks was a 6-1 underdog, which was better than he deserved, as it turned out. Had this fight never occurred, Tyson still would have been recognized as the undisputed champion by virtue of unifying the titles. Thus it is revisionist to say Spinks was the champion up until his defeat by Tyson in 1988. Spinks’ pitiful first-round knockout loss, contrasted with Tucker’s much more competitive performance against Tyson, strengthens the case that Tucker was superior to Spinks at the time. Accordingly, the Tyson-Tucker fight of 1987 may be considered a fight between the top two heavyweights in addition to being the final title unification bout, so there cannot be any serious dispute that Tyson emerged from that fight as the true world champion.

also, his reasoning of why a lineal champion could be stripped of his title

There are some situations where it would be legitimate to strip a champion—even a lineal champion—of his title. For example, the champion could refuse to face any quality competition, prolonging his reign by fighting strictly mediocre opponents, or perhaps not fighting at all, while refusing to officially retire. Meanwhile, another fighter might defeat some top contenders, in which case he may deserve to be recognized as the real champion, since the paper champion is no longer actively fighting top contenders. A title that is not defended against legitimate contenders may be considered effectively vacant, so the vacancy is filled in the usual way, with a bout between two top contenders. Now, this kind of judgment requires us to make subjective assessments about who is a top contender, but the same problem would arise even in strictly lineal championships whenever a vacancy occurs. There is no getting around the fact that champions are not always crowned by mechanical rules of genealogy, but we sometimes have to make judgments about who is a top contender.

regardless its a mute point as its simply the authors opinion as most people make reference to Ring Magazine for determining who, why and what fighter should be considered to be the lineal champion...in which they recognized vitali klitscho as the Ring Magazine Lineal Champion after his defeat of corrie sanders

Calzaghe has the style to be competitive with anyone in history within his weight class.
