A name to strike fear into the opposition? :yep

IB, how did Frampton look tonight, I didn't catch it. Impressive vs a durable but limited opponent?

    Round 1

Calzada is pushing a long slow left jab and getting cuffed on the back of the head by Marquez's carefully placed hooks. Calzada is leading with right hands and circling left as Calzada lobs overhands back at him.

    10-9 Marquez

You know a fight is meaningless when the commentators spend an entire round trying to tell them apart

I am picking Alvarado but I fully expect Provodnikov to win the first 3 rounds.

Actually, despite having had that thought for months, I am just now questioning my prediction quite a bit.

More or less, yeah. I wouldn't even call Parodi all that durable, although he did stand up to a bit of a drubbing in the final couple of rounds before succumbing to some ferocious body work. He was limited indeed but often when you hear that word you think of a brawler, whereas he was the complete opposite. He was a jab-first, jab-last, and jab a few times in the middle sort, a wannabe technician who never really consistently found the head of Frampton with his jab, nor got his respect with it when he did score. He is the sort who can outbox tomato cans but upon reaching a certain level has absolutely nothing to offer. Frampton was a better mover, took away his jab, and punches about fifty times harder. Parodihas complete feather fists. He reminded me of a poor man's Sergey Fedchenko.

That said, Frampton took care of business and looked a beast.

    Round 2

Some exchanges as Marquez backs up and looks to line up his 1-2. Calzada is slinging in body shots and then bloodies Marquez's nose by switching the attack up suddenly with overhead windmills bending forward in the midst of digging to the body.

    10-9 Calzada

    19-19

Thanks, I'll have to try and catch the fight in the next few days. Frampton has been on my watch list for a long time.

    Round 3

Calzada is swinging both arms in very wide, slugging on the front foot. Marquez is stepping outside and turning in counter left hooks, catching Calzada coming in.

    10-9 Marquez

    29-28 Marquez

    Round 4

Calzada is marching forward as Marquez backs up and flurries with push-broom right hands and long uppercuts. All of Marquez's shots are hitting Calzada's arms but Calzada isn't getting close enough to get off his own. Marquez lands a right hand and left hook on the face as Calzada keeps advancing. Wild right uppercut charging in by Calzada, missing. Marquez pushes Calzada to the ropes and they trade a few big drawn-back pinball launcher right hands.

    10-9 Marquez

    39-37 Marquez
