Alvarado didn't even beat the count in the 8th round but weeks allowed him to continue, I'm sure alvarado was up on the cards when it was stopped. If he just danced for 2 more rounds getting the crap beat out of him he would have gotten the decision no doubt. :think
I think the ref asked Alvarado if he wanted to continue and there wasn't a response so it got stopped.

Have you not followed boxing for the past two years? A robbery is always possible. I really wanted to see a Ruslan KO because this smelled like a robbery. 1.Top Rank Promotions vs Banner Promotions 2.Hometown vs Foreigner We know how Top Rank vs Banner ended up during Chavez vs Vera. We know how Hometown vs Foreign goes. Glad this ended in a KO so we didn't have to deal with that kind of drama.

yea before bipop's post i was gonna say there is no way they could have scored that fight to mike because ruslan was def gonna win the last couple rounds and he had a 10-7 roud not to mention winning some of the earlier rounds
lampley said judges scorecards were all in favor of ruslan and mike needed ko or many kds to win fight in hbo broadcast.
Thats good that they weren't fixed... ALthough, sometimes I wonder if after a knockout like that they didn't want to be embarassed because they were gonna fix a fight that was clearly going the other way to save a top rank product. SInce he lost anyways why not hand over other cards that look legit?
