If Tyson or De La hoya were still fighting, they would have 3-4 million buys these days. Most of the people paying for a Floyd fight are paying to see him get beat finally. They aren't floyd fans, hell he even gets booed in his own city! LOL

Floyd is also the last of the greats, and people are starved for good boxing fights with high level fighters. Floyd is in a very lucky time period, he has zero competition.

They're not better, though mostly very good except Canelo Trout, which was a lukewarm fight. But notice it's mostly fringe contenders making good fights. Garcia Lucas were high rated, but it wasn't a FOTY contender, pretty good though.

 

I am sure Wlad would rather get paid 71 million than the 17 million free tv gets ya . . . dont get it twisted fighters fight to get paid not for the love and adoration of the fans

 

They put on tough man fights but their guys are more hype than true.

HBO is throwing its money on that **** heavyweight division . . . they should have invested it on Mayweather and they would not have lost out on the highest grossing event ever (they are in it to make money)

 

I don't think these overseas fights cost them much, they didn't even have a production crew. It was probably well under 500k, which is a bargain for a HW title bout, though not that boring.

It's still questionable whether Showtime breaks even with Floyd's contract, won't be easy with the lack of legit options.
