Its also a part of the island of Ireland Britain is the big one, Ireland is the smaller one beside it, I think you will find Frampton comes from the one called Ireland
what a load of utter and complete nonsense love from south Belfast, county Down, from the great Province of Ulster, on the Emerald isle of Ireland
It is not an "entirely seperate country" it is not even the full province of Ulster, so it is hardly a country in its own right, what it really is, is a relic of British imperialism, but do you really wanna go over the true history of the North?
The Irish tribe called the Scoti migrated to what subsequently was called Scotland. Which goes to show how most of the sectarian crap is...well just crap.
And do you understand? shall we go back to the plantation? or Carson? either way, a Brit could never, ever win a pro British argument when it comes to the North of Ireland, you stole our land, you planted your own citizens here, and when we democratically voted to leave the UK (which we were forced into militarily anyway) you stole the North, gerrymandered it, and treated our people like complete filth, even literally shooting us down in the streets but its a shame we have to get political every time somebody from ****ing Belfast gets a mention you know what's worse than plastic paddys talking like they know Ireland? Brits talking like they know Ireland
Its not sectarian to point out the truth, and I'd rather not talk about it, in fact id LOVE it if I could stay away from it al together, but if people insist on constantly ****ing bringing it up, I will oblige
I never said Northern Ireland wasn't geographically linked to the Republic and seperate from the rest of Britain, only that Northern Ireland is part of the UK. Anyway, the delicate political situation on that island for the last century or so makes it rather a flawed approach to simply lump the Republicans and the Unionists in one group. I will note, however, that I did say if Frampton wants to represent both the Republic and Northern Ireland but not the UK then I would not claim him as a British fighter. It's a matter of what he wants, not what I want.
I pray to god this Frampton kid doesn't hit the big-times so we don't have to read thread after thread of this ****.
Why do people think the Irish populated scotland just because 1 ****ing tribe crossed the sea. Scotland wasn't unpopulated before the scoti tribe crossed, there was native pict tribes everywhere and Nomadic tribes in the northern isles. The Scoti tribe had a far more advanced gealic/celtic culture (farming etc) and over time it spread to the picts who were pagan (basically hunter gatherers). The gaels, picts and nomadic tribes joined forces to fight a southern army, this played a huge part in the merging of the gaelic, nomadic and pict cultures. Even though the north got destroyed by the southerners it actually gave birth to the country Scotland, and centuries of future on and off warfare with the south of Britian. Anyway Gaels originated in Northern Germany and spread to many parts of europe, including the British isles, landing in Ireland first. The Scoti tribe are German :deal I agree, sectarianism is bile.
Take your rampent pro-Irish/anti-British sentiments elsewhere. I am not interested in discussing the Troubles on a boxing website, nor anywhere for that matter as it not a subject that really concerns me in the slightest.
Frampton himself posts on here the odd time but I would say after reading some of these posts he might shy away. Kudos to those of you who don't get involved in the he is Irish/British debate.
I didn't start it did I? tell you what friend, point me to a post I've ever made that started an "Irish-British" debate But when someone else starts it (usually a Brit, ironically enough, when it's about a boxer from the North who is doing well, first ones to claim them) I will happily parttake plus, please tell me what makes me "anti-British" anti-British imperialism on the other hand? Yes, and proud of it
