    Mayweather

Greatest undefeated fighter ever. 5 divison titlist. 4 division lineal champion. One questionable fight his whole career and every other one decisive. Multiple HOF'ers faced. Better resume all around given that. That is just on paper with no description of his actual skillset.

They are both among the 25 or so best fighters of all time in my opinion, but I think Mayweather edges it.

As if anyone is going to look back in history and be like "errr yo Pacquiao is overrated, because look at how many uppercuts Clottey threw at him". Lol. Theyre gonna say 'he's the guy that won lineal champions in 4 weight divisions (never been done before), was fighter of the decade when ATG Mayweather was dominant, demolished ATGs Morales and Barrera in TKO wins, and stayed p4p top 10 for 10 years". No one cares how good Clottey's uppercuts were; Clottey lost 12 out of 12 rounds.

And you got my point with Calzaghe exactly. He is NOT up for ATG discussion; yet he is undefeated. I'm glad we see eye to eye here.

Was Bruce Lee undefeated? Was Ali undefeated? Mayweather represents pure skill to the point of being mythical. Even his enemies speak of his wizardry.

Meanwhile, Pacquiao can't even pay his recent opponents to say he's better than Mayweather. Not one of them!!

If I had to win an argument by listing and discussing their 15 best wins and 5 worst performances and try to say it's Pacquiao I wouldn't feel confident... just saying.

Not with victories against Canelo and Guerrero did he. Floyd appeals more these days to people because Manny is coming off a loss. This is the standard short-termism that is always present with boxing. After Jones got knocked out, he was a fairly sheltered fighter who never challenged himself and who was hiding a glass jaw. This happens over and over in boxing. Over time, these distorted views correct themselves however, which also happens over and over in boxing.

No, Ali wasnt undefeated. Ali, SRL, SRR, Jones and Pacquiao all weren't undefeated but Calzaghe and Mayweather are. What does this mean?

    There you said it.
Mayweather probably paid his opponents to worship him after the fight.

Don't mention Morales who DEFEATED Pacquiao in their FIRST fight DESPITE the fact that he was over the hill. To make it worse he defeated Pacquiao via BOXING LESSON!!

He defeated Morales immediately after Morales had lost a fight. Nothing awesome about that.

how the **** will people forget about Mayweather. People sure remember Rocky Marciano.

If Floyd retied now, he'd be the advocate for advanced testing in boxing, a 9 time world champion in 5 different weight classes and lineal titles in 4 different divisions. This is on top of being 22-0 in title fights and 45-0 overall.

    He won't be forgotten

All common opponents say Mayweather is better. Most current and active boxers say Mayweather is better and would win if they fought, ever, in any year, forward or backward through time at any weight from 106 -154. Every odds maker has always favored Mayweather in any year that a fight was mentioned as feasible. This stuff matters!!
