Unlike Ortiz, Mack wasn't on a two fight losing streak.

I don't mind actually. Id rather they make a better fight with Ortiz. I don't really care for Molina and the fight didn't really make sense.

    Ortiz vs Khan!

no he was coming off 2 wins at light heavyweight against

a guy with 11 losses and another guy who had 8 wins :rofl

so yeah i guess that makes one worthy at an IBF title fight :patsch

Many of the top super middleweights were tied up at the time. My point is that a guy like Mack is more deserving of a title opportunity than someone like Ortiz. For Ortiz to get a title shot after back to back losses is just absurd.

look froch he was going through murders row of competion so he was well due for a easy fight, but ortiz who lost 3 of his last 4 fights doesnt deserve a tital shot, without proving jack at 154. and if thought molina it will be 120-108 or 119-109 scores for molina

Back to back losses AND eighteen months' of rust AND never even having debuted in the division in his entire career.

so fight a guy who wasnt even ranked at light heavy or super middle? :patsch

there were people froch could have fought in his own division...even though froch has one of the best resumes around, this fight was pathetic in terms of calling it a title fight.....
ishida got a shot at GGG for his title after back to back losses. was that absurd too?

they are both sham of title fights.....dont make one out to be worse than the other. Mack wasnt ranked in the top 25 at 175 or 168

Mack is a better fighter than his record suggests. By the way, he was ranked number six by the IBF at light heavyweight.

    You beat me to it.

I never cared for Ortiz-Molina, just not interested in watching Molina on a ppv.

I read that GBP is looking at a possible Ortiz-Mosley fight instead. I'd actually prefer that fight, would be a lot more entertaining.

Mack was always high risk low reward for everybody, and so didn't get his name called a lot during his peak. He couldn't ever keep the momentum going for long, but his losses were all to upper echelon guys and he always rebounded with a solid win or two in no time. Heading into the Froch challenge he was coming off a very strong recent performance styling on former longtime contender Omar Sheika. Yes, it was a faded Sheika, but game as ever and not far removed from his slug-fest with then-ranked Diaconu...and he got beaten to a pulp and retired permanently by the Mack Attack.

I basically spent the entire duration of the ring walks for Golovkin vs. Ishida s******ing at the inevitability of what I knew was about to happen. (some were still predicting doom and gloom for GGG, using Kirkland as their cautionary tale :nut - indicating they knew absolutely nothing else of Ishida. The more informed morons pointed to him not getting stopped by Pirog, which helped complete assembly of the myth of the powerful iron-chinned Japanese hulk...)

The only surprise, to me, was that a single round was completed before it did happen.
