Condolences go out to Frankie's family and friends, and to Raul Hirales. Can't be easy at all to be in his position right now.

They needed a joe calzaghe ref jumps in after one slap type of referee.

Everyone would of said poor stoppage.

This sports strange, thats why I enjoy defensive fighters.

Rip, in my thoughts, I used to think boxing might be good to do ams. Forget that after seeing that

Boxing, what a brutal sport. Anyone who gets in that ring has some serious balls. More courage than 90% of the people on this planet.

...and Franky more than most. I would've said the exact same had you asked before this last weekend, too - as would anyone who saw him before.

His shining moment, fearlessly taking it to a hyped undefeated prospect to whom he was meant to be fed (and who later went on to give Rigondeaux hell):

thats why I hate people ***** about when a boxer says.... My Health Comes First... this is the Hurt Business, so not getting Hurt is what keeps you from head trauma that could lead to this type of Deads

Right. This should be a wake-up call to anyone who gave Alvarado a hard time last week...

idk if he was drained, but I know he was put on a stretcher last year vs the mexican russian and came back early this year. That was his 5th fight this year also :-(

Rest in peace but this guy should have never been allowed near a ring. He took a brutal beating in another fight and had to be carried out of the ring. Shame on the commission for allowing this fight to take place.
