I wouldn't call a former belt holder and ranked contender a clubfighter, but no he wasn't regarded as a challenge. It was a showcase defense inbetween superfights.

Names don't mean dudu without proper context. Almost all the names Pac fought were in decline and lost within two fights of fighting Pac. That's FACT.

If Klitschko fights and beats Lennox now is Wlad legacy's enhanced? Heck bring Foreman out of retirement. Fight Holyfield. Bring Tyson out of retirement. Wlad should pad his legacy with names.

Pac beat Barrera close to his prime. A legit win. JMM v Pac good fights.

All other fighters---Morales, DLH, Hatton, Cotto, Mosley, Margarito were faded or had their confidence beaten out of them. Just Arum doing his job as promoter.

Vargas was a great win, probably his best performance. But the victory over top p4p ATG fighter Whitaker was his best win. You can make an argument for the Quartey fight aswell, but Vargas clearly was not a better scalp. Better performance yes, better win no.

No single great win is ever enough, I've made a point several times in other topics that lots of ordinary fighters have got great wins. That's not what makes a great career or fighter in my opinion.

I think Pacman and Mayweather are head and shoulders above everyone else in this era, and roughly interchangable. I give the edge to Pacman because of his quantity but I won't dismiss a case for Mayweather. And I absolutely refuse to pick away at either man's achievements. They are the best right now.

    LOL...

How is Whitaker de la Hoya's best win there there are plenty of people who thought he LOST that fight? The same goes for Quartey. Both Whitaker and Quartey CLOWNED de la Hoya and made him look like an amateur. Did you even see those fights? I'd wager not.

Vargas is de la Hoya's BEST win, no question...

Yeah. Pacquiao's losses hurt him considerably IMO. I don't even think it's that close right now and I'm glad the poll reflects that.

In other words, a tuneup. Same thing.

And yes Carlos Contreras was a clubfighter.

    Quantity?

You've got to be ****ing kidding me. Pacquiao only has ONE great win and that's the W he got over Barrera.

    That's IT. Nada Mas...

Well, Bradley doesn't, but the Marquez loss certainly hurts his case in contrast to an undefeated fighter.

Eh, I don't much stock in these polls.

He's had quite a few losses. Lost his title at flyweight via KO. Lost to a heavy underdog in Morales. And during his big run, earned notoriety by beating fighters Mayweather had already beaten. Not to mention the loss to a 40 year old Marquez.

Best win is not the same as best preformance. The fights were close but Oscar got the decisions, and those were the best opponents be defeated thus making the fights his best wins. If you dont agree with results thats okey, but this is not the thread to discuss it.
