This discussion can be answered by what most writers, experts, boxers, trainers and etc are saying right now. Overwhelmingly, the majority are saying the Floyd is the best in this generation and there are articles out there discussing whether he was TBE, top 3, top 5 top 10. I have never seen anyone ever talk about Pac in those terms (maybe the best in this generation but that was when Floyd had retired and came back so Pac won fighter of the decade or if it was a Filipino source.

-29 and 30 is not old.

-I don't think anyone forgot Morales' disasterous LW debut, but thanks for the reminder.

Of course I'll place emphasis on a champ getting flattened early by someone who didn't notch a single significant win before or after.

Or a heavy underdog outboxing you, only to lose 12-0 in his next bout by a B class fighter.

Not to mention getting flattened by a 40yr old.

We're comparing resumes - can't pretend those losses didn't happen.

Age in boxing is relative. Although in Morales' case he wasn't just aging, he was also too big for the weights he was fighting at.

Again, I'm not pretending the losses didn't happen, I just don't put as much stock into them as you are.

Once more I will say that in contrast to Mayweather, I can understand them being held against him. So I'm not sure what you are arguing?

The thread title is pretty clear. And my point is that when comparing resumes that hurts him. Obviously you think those losses are no big deal. Whatever works, I guess.

    Yeah, I guess.

Anyway, nice to see some sensible people voting on here. These polls were horribly skewed by dumb Pac fans for a long time.

I don't think people are dumb to vote for Pac over May. An ATG ranking is subjective and when you have two fighters at this elite of a level, you can't go wrong with either choice.

Pac beat Barrera close to his prime? you call the number 3 rated p4p at that point in time CLOSE to his prime? that was Barrera in his PRIME and that alone trumps anything mayweather achieved in his ENTIRE career.

you are nitpicking, I could do that to floyds resume and many others, the truth of the matter is that Pac has beaten ATGs in dominating fashion when everyone thought he couldnt after jumping in weightclass. He's got losses. he bounced back anyway and which proves he's got a diamond set of balls. Mayweather on the other hand keeps blowing off excuses left and right when gets asked to fight pacman. LOL. How can you regard mayweather as a superior boxer with regards to all time rankings when there is substantial evidence that he ducked him. lol what a joke. :yep:smoke
