Tua lost by UD (and also got knocked down) by Monte Barrett in the conclusion of their ATG trilogy. I don't know how successfully he can bounce back from that.

They were slated for a 3rd at some point though, no?

Yes, you are right. There were meant to be 3 fights but Tua broke Barretts jaw. He went away for a while after beating Tua. He called Tua in the build up to the Cameron fight and Tua was threatening retirement (again) as clearly he himself knew he was shot in those fights.

Shane Cameron (Tua destroyed in 09) got in the ring with Barrett in 2012. Barrett expected to walk over Cameron after the Tua fight and got KO'd with arguably one of the best one punch KO's of 2012.

Since then Barrett has been quiet and expecting to retire. Tua has had a push foward from the recent fame and drop from Shane Cameron. Along with the up and coming pr heavyweight prospect Joseph Parker and celebrity boxer Sonny Bill Williams.

There was meant to be a 3rd fight but it never eventuated. Barrett left with a win but didnt fancy a rematch after getting KO'd by the lighter fisted Cameron.

I saw Lewis hug Tua all night! It was a dance, not a fight!

Indeed. "Great shape" for him at this point is anything around (109kg) and "career defining" is really any win(legitimate or otherwise) against a top 50 HW.

I bet if Tua hooks up with Kevin Rooney, he can make noise in the Heavyweight division and maybe beat a Klitchko! :nut

Tua's time has come and gone. His inactivity and management issues plagued his career post Lewis especially since he still had some ability during the time period to at the very least get a belt around his waist. After all, Brewster pulled it off.

At this point though his "great shape" is purely aesthetic and is of no consequence.

For his sake I wish him well, but I'm not going to entertain the idea of him actually making any kind of waves in the division even if the division lacks depth.

He is running slow cause he is carrying 110kgs up hills....
Skinny guys who weigh 63kg ofcourse they'll run faster cause your carrying much less.

All olympic marathon runners are skinny theres a reason for that.

I like David Tua. He's one of boxing's good guys.

I can't see him beating Ustinov. Wrong style.
