Actually Douglas lost it by KO, but got saved due 2 2 things: 1) long count when Douglas went down 2) short count when Tyson went down 1st man 2 stop Tyson was really Evander Holyfield
I'd like some of what you're smoking! Douglas was fine and took the count perfectly, Tyson was like a baby trying to pick his gumshield up, if the ref would have let it continue he'd have been put to sleep!
What about a prime Frazier? I know Joe is usually given little chance in this matchup but I think win or lose Frazier would be a tough go...at least for a little while. Joe wouldn't be intimidated and if he could bob and weave his way out of danger for the first 3 or 4 rounds then things could get interesting to say the least. Frazier would get low and make Tyson's body a target all the while whipping hooks to the head. If Tyson doesn't end things early would he become discouraged having Frazier in his chest all night? Mike likes to fight at a certain range and Frazier would try to take that range away all the while throwing punch after punch. I lean toward Tyson in this but it wouldn't be a walk in the park for him.
Who doesn't Sir Jimmy give nightmares to? [Isn't this the guy who's going to replace Freddie Krueger in the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise?]
Douglas also beat the count with under 10 seconds left in the round. 10 seconds into the round and he would of been out of there. It was a remarkable stroke of luck surviving that KD but there was nothing lucky about the way he fought that night. As for the thread, i see nobody in history who convincingly beats prime Tyson. He had the complete package to hang with anybody.
Ali was no way near his prime when he fought frazier in any of their fight´s. The nearest Prime Ali was around 66-67 when he fought Cleveland Williams.
Anyone with a good jab and timing Lennox is the worst match poor him He has a punchers chance, a slim one
5'10" height, 71 inch reach, peek-a-boo posture, I really don't like this template for dealing with Foreman. With those measurements, you'd better be able to stand your ground to make him move [like Chuvalo did for a couple rounds, and Marciano might have been able to], move well yourself, or sucker George into counter-trap maneuvers [as I believe Jerry Quarry would have done]. For me, it's not the height, reach or weight [as Peralta proved] which would be the key factor for Tyson, but that damned peek-a-boo. I can see Foreman coming out of his corner at the opening bell to bowl over Mike just like Kirkman. While I think it's entirely possible for somebody with Tyson's height and reach to beat peak Foreman, having a solid base for movement or standing ground would be essential, and the peek-a-boo just didn't provide that. Best case scenario for Mike is that he just gets physically smothered against the ropes by George the way Tate did to Weaver for 13 of 14 completed rounds. [Of course Foreman would never back off the way Ace Miller instructed Tate to, and George was a far harder puncher than John.]
Out of everbody Foreman would probably be Tyson's biggest bogeyman but Douglas cought him with the uppercut by stepping back and walking him onto it , would Foreman be as effictive with it if he never backed off? Or would Foreman's high guard leave him susceptible to a terrible attack to the body?
Greb, a man who defeated every heavyweight he'd ever fought and scared Dempsey into exile, Tyson's stylistic forefather, fivefather, by inflationary linguistics. Dempsey knew that Greb would be hell on his style and the style of that of any heavyweight, therefore, Tyson would know the same, being a historian and student of the science. Greb would scientifically, and historically, ruin Tyson, give him nightmares, etc. When will people understand the greatness that is Harcourt Fenton "Harry" Mudd Griswold Greb?!!!
Well, if The Bean just went crazy I imagine he'd give Tyson fits, but would probably succumb rapidly after the fourth round.
you just posted the same exact garbage on anoth thread. Lewis is so great yet it took him 8 rounds to take out a washed up Tyson. I take it Danny Williams is twice as good as Lennox then? Tyson and Lewis have many mutual opponents and both performed comparably similar against most of them. Tyson also fought most of them before Lewis If you want to critisce Tysons opposition, then you need you need to do the same for that Lewis your praising so much
