WHO WOULD FLOYD HAVE TO FIGHT AND BEAT TO GAIN YOUR RESPECT? REALLY THINK ABOUT IT. CLEARLY THE CHAMPIONS HES FOUGHT DONT WARRANT ANY RESPECT ( to floyd haters) SO I POSE THE QUESTION. WHO DOES HE HAVE TO FIGHT AND AT WHAT WEIGHT DOES HE HAVE TO FIGHT HIM OR THEM.
Cotto and Canelo did it for me. My respect was held back until then but its ok now. For me to consider him greater than Pacquiao in his era, he'd have to be fight Pacquiao, but i dont expect that to happen. Anyway, respect is fully won and deserved.
the guy is outstanding regardless of anything else. He and pacman have my fullest respect. I dont agree with stuff they say all of the time but im in awe of both there skills. I used to think Pacman would give floyd fits but i seen enough to know that Floyd knows the weaknesses of the pacman. Pacman may have tricks up his southpaw sleeve too so cant write him off untill the fat lady sings:yep Its about a fighter vs a boxer i spose.....until they face off all we have is speculation and theories by the dozen. They should have one helluva retirement fight togrther and put an end to the doubt:good
it's not a question of WHO but WHAT. he can fight godzilla but still wont get the respect he wants. it's a badge earned, not asked.
Huh?? Fighting Godzilla would definitely be "earning, not asking" for the badge. If that's asking for a badge, what on earth would you consider earning it.
There is no way to convince his haters, if that's the question. He may well beat Godzilla by a wide decision, but some idiots would still come out with vague excuses, like "Godzilla has no skill, no stamina, hasn't fought anyone notable, it was a cherrypick etc."
Never really "disrespected" his achievements, although fighting (and sucker punching) Ortiz did make that "respect" take some hits. Kinda lost some more when he fought Guerrero. Choosing to fight the likes of Cotto and Canelo (especially the way he fought against these two) kinda erased the Ortiz and Guerrero stains for me.
First of all, the words "Floyd" and "Respect" should never be in the same phrase. And anyway, it's too late. He should have fought peoples when they were prime, like Manny Paquiao for example, instead of make a fool of himself with things like "i'm a rich coward".
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2k4v_s-cMA This is Bradley talking about how difficult, he says impossible, to make a fight between he and Mayweather because they are in different promotipal companies. I think it sheds light on why several fights with Mayweather and others, most notably Pac, have not been made.
He should already have respect. Has a very impressive resume, probably one real questionable fight which he avenged. Sweet science at its best.
Paul Spadafora / Matt Hatton. Zab Judah before Baldomir softened him up. Mosley before he went to the dentist.
