watch these videos and after you do you will realize that golovkin has no chance of beating Stevens. He has never seen such speed and power! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQgzwoNCQyI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LO3a5-L5a2Y http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDzv5QQP8Ek http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LRDq_dxsGCg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbKS1l78zHI
Kinda the opposite really. Unless you really think the sneak left that caught Roman and Ayala off guard will have the same deer-in-headlights effect on GGG. Those guys are clearly inferior in awareness, speed, and had no offense threat at all. Also, go watch Findley fight. Findley " Stevens is a chump, his punch is a chump punch" Other fights are before Stevens lost and took a big time off.
He's not talking sh-t, you are. He knows his boxing, you don't. Log off noob. GGG KO stevens in 3 or less.
Curtis is coming for a fight...but GGG WANTS a street fight and the longer curtis is there then the longer he is going to spend in the emergency ward waiting for his MRI results..
Ill be the first to give G his credit of he beats stevens. But on this site you guys are severly underating Stevens and over rating G. Stevens has a lot better chance then anyone one of you are giving. He will have a very hard time winning let alone startching him in 3 rounds are less.
to me stevens is the darnell boone of the 160 lbers...nothing special, yeah got power..but very inconstant...he is ktfo b-c level fighters in these vids. nothing special
Golovkin had 350 amateur fights. He has speed, power, defense, stamina, everything. Golovkin's people chose to fight Stevens, they know what the are up against. None of those fighters above are anywhere near Golovkin's skill level.............
The same was said about Mack the knife... Triple G tapped that azz with ease. Stevens is getting his **** pushed in, I guarantee it.
I dont under rate Stevens, he has handspeed and talent and a sneaky left "jook" and is not afraid to get aggressive if the opponent off balance. He just does not strike me as a "power puncher" so much as he strikes me as a guy with boxing sense and handspeed which let him catch people by surprise early. Best punch is the one they dont see coming, and Stevens can do that. I just think it will be a lot harder to do that against GGG than Saul Roman. If you watch the Stevens - Findley fight, it might remind you of the Vera - JCC fight. Where Stevens played the role of Vera, and Findley did not have daddy bring his own judges. Stevens massively outworked him, but Findley face was fine and Findley did not take any notable damage during the fight. GGG as well, I think his overall power is overrated. What GGG does have though is a jab that hits incredibly hard for a jab and despite its power he can keep his balance throwing it, throw it on the move and throw it often. Where Stevens can catch you by surprise with a left jolt then follow up, GGG keeps hitting with his left until opponents clam up. Anyone can load up power shots against someone who starts over-defending against the jab. If Stevens can execute a plan to ameliorate the effect of GGG jab then I think he has a chance, or will at least be able to force a side of GGG we havent seen yet. I just dont see catching the likes of Roman with an early surprise left over his glove as an indication of some monstrous power that can overwhelm GGG thats all.
There is no doubt that Curtis is dangerous, he's got some am. experience himself (Golden Gloves champ) and has very quick hands to go with his power, certainly he's not a guy GGG should be underestimating. FWIW I actually believe Stevens has a better chance than Macklin did against Golovkin. That said, it is a fight that Golovkin should win, I don't believe he's gonna give Curtis the openings left by Ayala or Roman, and the Findley fight showed that if Stevens ain't able to catch / counter an opponent the KO is not so likely. The Findley fight also showed that Curtis can box, but in this instance it is Golovkin who should come out on top.
