Vitali and Wlad are the most underrated fighters in recent memory... they've been on top for years and still don't get the respect they deserve.

Can be ranked no higher than the #2 HW of his era, beaten in his one fight versus an ATG.

    No, then.

Yep, even beat Evander. I get crucified for saying Ruiz was good, but truth is he found ways quite often to beat great fighters. And Jones beating him was no joke either, epic performance by Roy.

Hated watching Ruiz, but he was effective.

Rico loves Vitali but hates Ruiz even more than he hates Roy Jones, maybe...

The comment you made would never sit well with him.

Lewtards also like to kid themselves on that their man 'completely' avenged tko2 when all he did was turn up and get his hand raised for doing next to nothing. And being knocked out clean by one punch, KO5, by a B class fighter when at peak of reign, that stain is never erased buddy.

The steroid cheat Vitali only ever fought two good opponents and they both beat him.

Vitali is 0-1 against ATGs. And 0-1 against HOF contenders.

    You sound butt hurt.

Frustrated him into a crack withdrawal breakdown? I can see now why Lewtards rate their man so high, as in high as a xxxxing kite!

Vitali was past prime also, had a shoulder and knee injury, and took the fight with a weeks notice. But 4-2 on all three cards, landed twice as many shots and should have won by DQ after your cheater got away with repeat hit and holding. This is why the WBC were about to strip your lion before he quit in shame.

    heard it all now.
klitlickers claim that prime vitali lost because he was BOTH green AND past prime.

go figure. who even bothers to reply to such drivel.

I have never seen Vitali fight better than he did against Lennox Lewis. Frankly he could have done with a few more fights on short notice if it would bring that kind of performance out of him regularly.

If I had to pick any period where I thought Vitali was in his prime it would be from 2002 to 2004 with his fights against Lennox and Johnson being the absolute zenith of it.

Vitali does not get a pass for taking the fight on short notice because he had exactly the same amount of time to prepare as Lewis did.

He was ahead on all three cards after six round but those cards did not agree on which round he won - two giving Lennox the 3rd and one giving Lennox the 5th and all giving Lennox the 6th - so repeating the "he was ahead on the card" thing glosses over the fact that it was a close fight that was scored differently on all three cards and that he lost the final round.

Vitali should not have won by DQ. He was cut by perfectly legal punches and dirty fighting is a long standing tradition in boxing - Vitali himself has done it.

The WBC never threatened to strip Lennox because they thought the first fight should have been a DQ or that it ended controversially but because Lennox was refusing to fight his mandatory - and given the fact that Vitali refused to fight his mandatory in 2005 and again 2013 and has gotten away with it I dont think he or his fans and take any moral high ground on this issue.

Bottom line remains the same. Vitali was not good enough on the night to get the job done. If he had been we would not be here now discussing it. He had his shot and he failed. Sure, Lennox walked when should have fought a rematch but the only reason that's even an issue is because Vitali couldn't beat him in the first place.
