Louis "The Unknown" Rose is coming off three consecutive victories over previously unbeaten opponents.

 

Round 1

Mendez is waving his pink gloves out at Rose, who jumps inside. Clinch, bumping chests and tangling arms. Mendez pushes out a jab while shuffling to his left. Rose slips them with diagonal jerks outside. Mendez swings his arms by his sides and rolls his shoulders loosely while circling. Mendez tries different altitudes and angles. Rose feeds him a few jabs while Mendez ducks and backs away. Right to the body by Rose. Mendez is walking forward and using quick sudden twitching movements to stay in defensive rhythm as Rose shows the jab feint but doesn't throw. Lead right by Mendez falling in. Both trade body shots. Counter hook by Rose as they step apart, brushing Mendez's chest. Another lead right by Mendez. They come together and tie up, both holding and hitting with one arm. Lead jab into the guard by Rose, quickly digging in a left hook downstairs before darting out. Lead right by Mendez, just missing.

Round 2

Mendez is coming forward and cranking in left jabs. Rose picks them off with quick flashes of his own right glove and looks to counter with a right while turning Mendez. Nice lead right by Mendez. Straight punches traded at short range as both duck and parry out of tight guards. Pretty boxing in center ring. A few dives in and spells of holding and hitting. Heavy right by Mendez after Rose sneaks in a few to the body.

Round 3

Mendez is doubling his jab and following Rose, getting clapped with combinations on the waistband. Rose sticks a jab and trots outside. Left hook to the body by Mendez. Right hand up top by Rose, falling in with some left hooks downstairs. Shoeshine to the body by Mendez. Rose hauls Mendez toward the ropes with one arm ensnared and digs several hard lefts into his side.

Round 4

Mendez is tapping double jabs off Rose's forehead and the edges of his gloves, then mowing into him and slinging hooks into his traps. Rose is throwing uppercuts to the body leaning in and then backing up to set up his uppercuts with jabs. Mendez is catching him with a thudding 1-2 on the outside and then muscling in again.
