Wilder could beat Wladimir

    People fear this but you have to look at the facts:

    Wlad likes to and does fight smaller opponents who he can control at a distance with his jab.

    Deontay is not only the same height, but he has a longer reach at 84 inches. If anyone is boxing on the outside, it's Deontay.

    Deontay is faster than Wlad, Wlad actually praised Wilder's speed in sparring and Steward remarked how natural his speed was.

    Both have bad chins, and Wlad has lost his killer instinct as evident in the Povetkin fight. He just couldn't finish him off, he did NOT want to risk his chin.

    Actually Wlad seems more aggressive against tall fighters. For instance vs Wach, Thompson and Pianeta he brought the right hand into the mix very early and fought fairly aggressive. Especially against Wach.

    While against the midget Mormeck it was a clinchfest.

    Good point.

    But how will he deal with Wilder's speed?

    Doesn't matter if Wilder has longer reach, he simply doesn't have the skill, footwork and sense of range required to box on the outside against Wlad.

    If you're going to successfully fight on the outside, you need a well established jab. Wilder lunges in with his jabs, keeping his is left hand low, just asking for a straight right, which Wlad would destroy him with. And while Wilders right is deadly, it's also severely telegraphed. Wlad will have a field day with his own deadly left hook.

    Based on the technical faults I see with Wilder (punching technique and balance being the major ones), I just can't see him not losing by KO before he can even get to Wlad (unless they continue feeding him tomato cans). Especially considering a worthwhile opponent is bound to take him into the late rounds, and considering Wilder hasn't been beyond the fourth, that could be devastating.

    What's frustrating is that I like Wilder, he's GOOD for the sport, but what's frustrating is that he needs rounds.

    I like what the guy is doing, if he see's a KO he'll get it. But Tyson was criticized for not KO'ing Tillis, yet those rounds proved vital experience for him.

    Wilder is coming along nicely. He showed a good jab the other night and his handspeed looks great. He will never beat Wlad though as long as Wlad isnt shot. Klit is to good and Deontays defense is to leaky. I think he will hold a belt one day, but all time greatness is not in his future. Definitely the most entertaining heavyweight at the moment though.

    If Wilder holds a belt one day, that's either the most carefully elaborated match making in history, or the division really is just utterly ****.

    Hes been boxing for a grand total of 5 years. I could show you countless fighters who were brought along this same way and had good careers because of it.

    The division is ****. Skills have fallen very far off at heavyweight, its why the division is seen as the laughstock of boxing now when it use to be the premiere division.

    I'm pretty sure Wlad has superior hand speed to that of Wilder. I don't know what you are watching when making as an absurd proclamation as Wilder having superior hand speed, when Wlad in actuality is the quicker man.

    Wilder beating Wlad would definitely be good for boxing, nobody wants to see Wlad as champ anymore.
