" Lewkowicz and promoter Lou DiBella told RingTV.com's Ryan Songalia that Martinez would gladly face Golovkin in the future. Lewkowicz later said, however, that a bout between Martinez and Golovkin would have to happen in September of next year, after a Martinez return in the spring or early summer.

"I think that sometime next year, sometime between March and June, Martinez would fight against somebody after a year without a fight," said Lewkowicz.

"After a year without fighting, we would not allow him to go right against Golovkin, so it would be somebody else first. Then the grand finale, against Golovkin, could be in September. That would be the perfect time.""

I think it would be much wiser for 3G to stay @ MW having a couple of stay busy fights against guys like Rubio and Zbik till HBO puts him into a fight with Sergio. Then if 3G succeeds to beat Sergio and be the Ring WBC and WBA champion, he can move up @ 168 and fight guys like Ward, Froch and JCC. I know that Martinez next possible opponent is Cotto, so we will have to wait and see who will win this fight and how . :good:think

Anyway if HBO will force a fight between Froch and 3G @ 168 early in 2014, then the plans are changing. :bbb

So, what do you think about 3G's next possible fights in 2014 ?

That time frame works. It's longer than I'd like to wait, but it makes sense for Martinez, and Golovkin will have plenty of HBO time to build his name value and fan base in the meantime. I'd like to see him fight Sergio before moving on to Froch, but if the Froch fight comes first, that's how it goes.

I think GGG best choice is to fight Froch first because I think he has a better chance at winning than against a healthy Serg. That being said, i do not see Martinez's body holding up much longer so GGG would have a clear advantage.

I think he loses to Ward.

if JCC is focused he could make it rough for G cubed, Jr has the size to force 3G to fight off of his back foot, while Gennedy has great balance and footwork it will neutralize his offence a bit. However, JCC does not take the sport seriously and that will spell out his demise

Very much how I've been seeing it going. This is why I think a Froch fight in early 2015 is more likely, but, as you say, if the Froch option comes up first, that's the way it goes.

Ideally I'd like to see GGG vs Murray early next year then maybe a stay busy fight (whilst Maravilla perhaps fights Cotto), then the Martinez (or Cotto?) fight for the lineal in Sept/Oct then Froch in either Dec or early 2015.

'Course, things never run that smoothly, but I can dream, can't I?

Froch would be an interesting and also a very dangerous fight for 3G and I tend to think HBO will force a fight between these 2 guys in 2014 (February or March). :bbb

After all boxing means bussines and 3G hasn't too many good options @ MW, so HBO has to match him into a legit fight with a top notch fighter. :good

that would be the ideal scenario but I think HBO won't allowe 3G to fight another 'can' / no name fighter and they will put him with Froch.

If HBO can make Murray vs 3G then its fine but again boxing is a business and HBO has to sell something.

I am not saying Froch is not a dangerous fight but I think of all the options I mentioned I think he may be the most vulnerable (except for an unhealthy sergio). I agree there are some good options at MW but the money right now is not there so I can see him wanting to fight Mayweather or moving up to 168. I know fans like the idea off the best fighting the best but boxing is also a business and he has to make as much money as he can during the limited time he and every other boxer (minus bhop) have in the ring

Probably the amount of money for this fight will be good for both fighters (Froch and 3G).

:think - a fight with Floyd, i don't see it happening in the future even if 3G will be the crowned King of MW divison cuz both fighters are with different network stations - SHO/HBO .

Ward / Froch / Sergio / JCC vs 3G, all are very feasible fights in the future for HBO. :good

everybody wants to fight floyd, if wlad thought it was feasible he would throw his hat in the ring:D.

I want to see him destroy froch and then JCC Jr. Serg is to old and will probably call it a day because his body cannot longer hold up

Well yeah, the ideal rarely happens, but I think the Murray fight is plausible (Murray is apparently working on the P1 issue) and may on second thoughts be an HBO fight in April/May.

GGGs rumoured Jan date (off HBO) could be a smaller name perhaps in Europe. Korobov has been mentioned as a possibility (though this isn't a fight I like for either careerwise) and Mora is an option - but I woulda expected either of these would more likely take place in the US.

Froch is a tough proven warrior with underrated skills, so to mention that someone from 160/168 or 175 would destroy Froch doesn't make any sense.

On the other hand Froch / 3G would 'destroy' JCC into a fight where the main question would be " how amount of punishment can JCC take from Froch / 3G ?" :D:think

Murray and Mora are good opponents / good step up for 3G. At the end of the day Murray beat Sergio and Mora beat JCC but both didn't get the decision.

3G vs Mora in January then Murray in April/May and then Sergio in Sept / Oct would be really, really sweet. :good:bbb

Hope Murray resolves his issues with his passport.

Martinez vs Golovkin in September 2015 ?

Sorry, but I do think this is stalling tactic from Dibella.

Why? Because Maravilla is nearing retirement fast and there are only a few payday fights left in him , but only if he stays undefeated.

Before facing Golovkin, DiBella would like Martinez to fight both Cotto, Alvarez and Mayweather. Forget Mayweather, but the Cotto fight might very well happen, and Alvarez as well. If Maravilla's body is somewhat suboptimal right now, imagine what its like after those two go 12 rounds with him.

Golovkin is going to retire Martinez so DiBella wil try to make any other fight before facing GGG.
