He may be a household name in the US, but that's as far as it goes.

The last international household name from boxing was Mike Tyson.

Same reason as Pacman, beating Oscar "De Household Name" La Hoya in a well promoted super fight.

Oscar passed the "Household Name" title down to them

Trinidad, Hopkins, and Sugar Shane held the title previously but vacated it over time, and Oscar took it back with the Mayorga "grudge" fight.

Marquez and Bradley kind of have fragments of Pac's version now, reason they got their own PPVS!

WTF all my mates every single one non boxing fan to hardcore all no who Maayweather and Pacquiao are, they are as do the vast vast majority of the world, Mayweather doesn't earn a guarantee of 40M because people don't no who he is, he earns it because he is a superstar as is Pacquiao.

Either way Klitschkos are more known in the US than Floyd is in Europe.

Is he? I'm not so sure about that, maybe in America. Most people I talk to, who don't follow boxing at all have no idea who either him or Pacquiao are.

NOBODY watches Floyd because "he's that guy that fought Oscar"

Oscar fought lots of guys that NOBODY knows who they are.

In 2009, most non-boxing fans I asked didn't know him.

Now? Almost every non-boxing fan I've ever asked knows who he is and several basic characteristics (i.e. highest earning athlete, defensive fighter, undefeated, everybody roots against him, etc).

    :? :? :?

    w klitschko , v klistchko, froch, martinez, kessler, d garcia - 6 white
    marquez -1 mestizo
    ward - 1 mixed raced
    mayweather, rigondeux - 2 black

and dont say bradley he lost his last 3 fights for ****s sake,
p4p lists are mythical subjective and usually yank biased, do you think i care about your list or anyone elses list, everyone has different opinions which shows p4p lists are a joke,

    I go off world champions
whites have far more world champions in the pros than blacks.

and in the ams whites always win way more medals than blacks

black fighters are boring to watch, feather fisted, and don't have granite chins.
Take away 1 division - welterweight, and boxing is one of the last sports a racist blackboy should be watching

Floyd was the highest earning sportsman in the world in 2011, again in 2012 and will probably be second in 2013. If you take into account that Floyd does not earn one cent in sponsorship deals as opposed to all others in the top fifty earning sportsman then the difference between Floyd and the rest is massive.

Is there another Sportsman in the world who earns more than a million a minute when he competes ?
