Groves has little, or no respect for Carl or that is what he wants to portray! Froch looked pissed but i think Carl is shocked that this young kid ,who hasnt really beaten anyone of note comes at him with the Bertie Big Bollocks stuff. Its laughable. Mind games this bla bla bla , Novemeber 23rd, A man, a boy and a ref! Lights out Groves!
it must be nice to know that you have the power to knock out your opponent regardless of whether it was sparring or not. Groves has skills but he aint no Ward is he, the blueprint to beat carl is there but he aint good enough to execute it
Groves hasn't got the chin of a Kessler to survive the 12 rounds and he hasn't got the defense of a Ward to outbox Carl for the 12 rounds. Froch wins by stoppage at some point.
Grove said that Froch is vulnerable. If there is one thing that Froch is NOT it is vulnerable. Groves on the other hand . . . .
i may be wrong but i thought groves brought that up? he said "he dropped me" then froch said "well you heard it from his own mouth", ive never actually seen anyone admit they gt dropped in sparring by a opponentm if anything groves looked like the dope there, he then tried to play of it saying "yeah the helicoptor came and carried me away" sorry groves you cant backtrack from that
ive always liked George groves, but he's just turned me off a little bit with the way he was acting, however, im not sure if this was really him or if he was just trying to deliberately trying to wind up carl and/or sell the fight. oh, and those red socks, no no.
I think basically Froch is getting agitated and angry. This probably means Groves' chances have diminished. Fighting a young domestic fighter meant Froch might have come in a touch unmotivated. Now if he's fired up he may well come in with his A game, which means he'll probably walk Groves down and blast him out.
The cynic in me thinks it was basically an hour long advert for the fight,so I would be very wary if reading anything into what either Carl or George said or how they behaved. The interesting thing is what Hearn Snr said which Al mentioned is how much more has George got.....we know that Carl is outstanding, but I think George is still improving.....but is it still too early for him.Cant wait most eagerly awaited fight of the year for me,so far.
Froch looks nervous before all the fights I've seen him preluding, Reason being the quality of his opponents is genuine world level, they are not guaranteed wins. Clearly the man wants to be a genuine champion and not take the 10 year Calzaghe route., but the price for that is you worry the crap out of your mind and need to give 110%.
Froch definitely was holding back tears. The thing is he wasn't being made fun of at the time, Groves was just predicting a victory for himself at which point Froch had one of those "so-angry-right-now-I-can-either-kill-him-or-cry" moments. On TV. That kind of makes me think he's going to hurt Groves really really bad, even though I already thought that.
