So back in the day when George Groves was a young, emerging, likeable pro, and a pretty good one too!

The name Saint George Groves had a certain ring to it (no pun intended). That was cemented as a very fitting name for a potential future world champion when Groves out pointed the very brash, arrogant and some what vastly over rated James De Gale.

Fast forward to Thursdays ringside and Groves is no longer a Saint, more like an antagonising child with little IQ who is clearly lacking respect for a champion like Carl Froch. Some may say its bitter sweet:

"Joe and Enzo are the step toe and Son of boxing"

Myself I think Groves has seriously damaged his public image and perception of being a respectable young man with lots of ability. Now he's beginning to resemble his long time mentor David Haye. Haye himself has attempted to repair his public image with silly publicity stunts like "Im a celebrity get me out of here". Haye is known more for his antics and lack of respect than his fighting ability. An unfortunate perception of one of our best HW's.

Public image aside, Groves has over stepped the line of "being quietly assured and confident" he now appears arrogant, with little reason to be. Froch is a seasoned world champion with the best looking resume any British fighter has amassed in many years. Groves's best win is still De Gale, in a razor close decision. What is the yard stick for measuring how good Groves is? Knocking over mediocre level opponents or his performance against De Gale?

George Groves comments like "calm down Carl" when Froch was clearly very calm, or "is he crying Adam?" when there was no viable reason why Carl would cry at that precise moment in time, underscores his stupidity, it was almost an Amir Khan moment!

Going into this fight I wanted Groves to dethrone Froch and claim a massive under dog victory, now I actually want Carl Froch to punch him around the ring like a punch bag!

He came away with this ''beaten the bully'' image but in reality he was just as bad as DeGale in lead up.

I got so much stick, People berating me for telling it how it is back in 2010. Now people are seeing it . Hate to say it but i told you so...

I don't think anyone can label George a "Saint" despite my opening statement. He has always been slightly ****y and too assured.

He had to take the back seat for the De Gale build up because De Gale is slightly more intelligent and witty than George with a natural humour to him.

All this said it was accepted because he never over stepped the mark, he never looked like the "bad guy" now he does, and now a more sinister light is shedding on Groves's personality, even if your a **** behind the scenes (Ricky Hatton) but behave in public and show humility, the fan base can grow to an army. Well George Groves just lost most of his fans outside of London in one single interview!

The only thing that annoys me about Froch is that he DEMANDS respect from everyone. The public, and in everyday walf of life.

    Problem is he's a complete ****.

Respect him in the ring, yes. He deserves that.

There's being too respectful toward Froch

    Bute:

Shows up, smiling, shaking hands, no eye contact, looks nervous, pays Froch much respect in interviews etc.

Froch goes out and punches holes through him!

And there's being arrogant and disrespectful to somebody who frankly you should be the opposite too.

Pisses Froch off, makes him focus harder!

Groves has shown arrogance not confidence and thats a shame, because he's a capable kid, and I actually expect him to beat Froch.

    Spot on.

Was Froch going on about Grove's breath the behaviour of a classy man? Nope.

Froch has been an absolute **** throughout his career. It's sad that people forget that. Have we become so used to it that we are not bothered anymore?

Froch has an over blown image of himself. The Dude is a joke saying he wants a rematch with Ward but they are only words.
Keep him on Awe TV in the US so all of 100 people will catch this "event".

Yeah and froch was very respectful before he faced 'feather duster puncher' in andre ward. How much respect has he shown ward since they fought? Still refusing to give him props. Say what you like about floyd but after the fight he always gives his opponent their props afterwards.
