stevens is coming to fight and ktfo or gktfo trying and you cant ask much more from a 10-1 dog

canelo didnt give that as a 2-1 underdog

there is no way you can pay -1200 for ggg when stevens has a legitimate punchers chance

Damn..I know it's gonna sound melodramatic, and it was 25 and more years ago, but that last look from GGG was just how I remember my dad (RIP) looking just before he kicked f#kk outta someone (or intimidated them into agreement).

Still, Curtis is a pro and probably more familiar with the pre-fight silliness than GGG is. My main hope is that Stevens comes to fight, I'm just...not quite sure what he can do to make it competitive. For Curtis, I think his best bet has to be to try and turn it into a brawl, hope he get an exchange going in which he can catch Golovkin (it's Curtis' hand speed as much as power which gets the results). Thing is GGG always starts off tight defensively then just relaxes as much as he thinks he can afford to safely.

If I had to plan strategy for Curtis (and if he's a sufficiently good actor) I'd get him to come in looking aggressive but at only 75-80%, wait for Golovkin to make adjustments to what he thinks he's facing, then let it all go maybe towards the end of 3 or in 4.

Thats a really good edit of the conference. Great promotion material, gonna have to pass that on to people.

That's the kinda margins they work on the stock market, and if you got the $s then I guess you can, but I'm with you on this, in boxing there's no such thing as a certainty, even if there isn't big punchers involved. I've been saying no more than -600 to -1000, but I've heard it's closing in to -1500 in places.

Still, I do see little chance for the Stevens win and if you were going to drop a bit on him I'd go for the under as well (3/4 or 6 - cos there's no way he wins past 6) or just for the stoppage.

I think people find it easy to underestimate the stakes, pressure and competitiveness of Soviet and ex-Soviet amateur programs. Someone who survived and thrived in a Soviet-style athlete mill in their formative years I think is unlikely to be bothered by the silly theater and posing that accompanies US prizefighting.

agreed that -600 to -1000 should be the line but i still wouldnt pay that nor would i attempt a middle here because you can get caught in the margin.

the line is at a ridiculous 20/1 at pinny when just yesterday you couldve bought ggg at -1200 there

    http://www.pinnaclesports.com/ContestCategory/Boxing/Lines.aspx

in my experience, a max $1400 pinnacle bet will move a pinny line by as much as five points so you can calculate how much has come in on golovkin in the last 24 hours
