I think he just may be. ****, this guy is receiving even more hype than Lacy did before he was completely obliterated by Calslappy. I must say he's looked pretty good thus far from what I've seen, but against who? Certainly nobody anywhere close to elite. Some of you people should really just slow the **** down and wait for him to actually beat some good fighters at 160 before trying to put him anywhere near the top 10 P4P or fantasizing about how he would do against the best at 168.
I really think he needs to fight a more skilled opponent. Do you think that it would be possible for him to fight the winner of Sturm/Barker? I'd rather see him against Sergio Martinez, but that won't happen probably until Sergio's last fight as they don't want to give him a potential loss until hes ready to call quits.
From what I've seen, he has some good skills and movement, almost looks effortless in his style. He's no Lacy. It's gonna take one hard ******* to take his '0' that's for sure.
Unlike Golovkin, the other titlist were lining up to fight Lacy. In terms of other titlists willing to fight GGG it's like theyre afraid he's gonna give em ebola or some ****. And unlike Lacy, GGG has unreal footwork. He's economical with his punches, and doesnt throw with the same speed or power until his guy is hurt and ready to go. Lacy would telegraph his shots, much like Stevens, from the opening stanza.
He reminds me of Kostya Tszyu, I think his career as a pro will be fairly short but include some great wins.
You mean like Calzaghe? Calzaghe would have taken that 0. Would love to see the Ward fight down the line but I reckon Ward beats him. Froch too.
Why? There's no-one better at MW. Quillin showed his level against Rosado, Geale, Barker and Sturm certainly aren't a class above Macklin who he beat with ease. Murray is tough, but again hardly a level above and Maravilla had his hands full with Murray. OK, I get what you're saying, GGG actually needs to have some of these fights, but equally you can see where I'm coming from. From what he's shown so far, it looks like the real challenges are the 168 elite. Since Froch is already talking about this match up, I don't see the problem with discussing it. Anyways, Jeff Lacy was shown to be a one dimensional slugger, is that what you're suggesting GGG is? Be serious...The only thing they have in common is the excessive hype. I get how that winds people up, but I can't see how it's any more annoying than ploughing through pages of hype about other fighters, be they proven or not - hyperbole is hyperbole after all, it's not really meant to be taken seriously, and is the staple of sports fans everywhere, not just in boxing. If you don't like reading stuff 'bout a fighter you ain't sold on, then don't read, there's no point telling others not to get excited about fighter who brings the big KOs though; please don't tell me you didn't get excited about an unproven Tyson or RJJ before they met the stiffest opposition (if you're old enough of course).
How about you stop telling us what to do? You like who you like and we like who we like. Golovkin is the real deal, regardless of anyone's opinion.
