Michael needs to pack it in,hes done enough in the sport and cemented his legacy as one of the most exciting fighters of the last ten years. Saying that though I think he will dispatch Steven Foster with relative ease.
Ok he's been in some wars but Michael has always looked after himself and i dont think he is as shot as every one makes out , he was knocked out by Marquez but his recent fights have all gone the distance and he did ok in each fight
You do know he was diagnosed with some kind of irregularity in his brain? Michael is not your average fighter hes willing to walk through punches in order to land his own,often showing total disregard for his health.I watched him chase Robert Guerrero around the ring a couple of years ago and I couldnt help but think the amount of punishment he was taking was inhuman.He may not have suffered too many heavy knockdowns in his career but the accumulation of punches to the head hes absorbed is ridiculous. Im a huge Michael Katsidis fan and would hate to see him lose to someone like Stephen Foster jr,I think he should retire for good.
He was actually wrongly diagnosed with scarring on the brain , several recent tests have proved he is ok and fit to fight
Katsidis needs to leave the boxing alone. he's been in far too many wars, and has taken far too many lumps. if he's not careful, he could get seriously hurt. the long term damage isn't worth a few extra quid. you did the boxing world proud, Michael. but let it go. before this return haunts the rest of your life.
Sad times. I think boxing has to improve its structure. It needs to be a smoother transition for fighters to retire and then embrace TV work, training, promoting etc
I hope Katsidis doesn't go on too long 1 of my favourite fighters that fight with Marquez was a war then he came over to the UK to fight Burns who put on probably the best performance of his career to win that night when everyone thought Katsidis would just destroy him.
