Beltran definetly deserves the rematch he won that fight no doubt about it a was there right next to ring and gave Burns 3 rounds and Beltran Scored a knockdown . Burns hasnt been right his past 2 fights maybe a change of trainer is needed Billy Nelson has took him as far as he can .

Judging by his last two performances i would think he needs to step back a little to gain the momentum back. Not too far back, just have a couple of fights to get his groove back.

i know people want him to step up for the big fights but after his recent form it wouldnt be smart.

a world champion is supposed to fight the best.

if you don't want to fight the best, relinquish the title.

Nelson should get plenty plaudits for the way he's turned Burns round, just counted 22 fights undefeated and you want him to walk away from that because of a poor performance?
When calzaghe never performed did he leave Enzo,no he remained loyal and reaped his rewards I'm sure Burns will do the same as he seems a loyal type of guy

On your arbitrary and meaningless scorecard, sure.

This isn't yankeeville, no need for such claims here.

Not at all, the result stands on both fighters' records and hasn't been properly challenged...just the usual blinkered whinging.

It was a legit draw, of course there'd be a rematch, and it'll be in Scotland again as that's where Beltran came respectably close but ultimately failed to earn the title the first time round.

One could far more easily wonder that about you...

I am looking forward to the Beltran rematch and hopefully the RICKSTER can win in style and prove the doubters wrong

Ricky's been fighting the best idiots for years ;)

Joking aside, I'm a big fan of Burns. Good fighter, great person, tough tough guy & true pro. However can you argue against the point above about world champs needing to fight the best? It's a simple statement & was actually in response to people saying he should take a couple of easy fights next.

So less of the weegie style faux offence & knee jerk insults, it was a valid point ;)

    :?
So because I live up here it means I must automatically be a fan of the unintelligible bottle-job?

    Gimme some ****in' credit! :rofl

Jesus, I've already said I'm a fan of Ricky Burns, just that I agree that I want him fighting the best opponents :good

Love that nobody can refute my post above!

Yep, gonna dominate next! That scummy Mexican-yank was lucky to get a draw as I soundly had Ricky up by 1 point and that was with a broken jaw from a lucky punch in round 2!

Your man is going to get exposed for the no good bum that he is. You must of been drinking that scottish liquor to have ricky the bum up by one point.

The ref should have deducted him points in nearly every round for excessive holding for his dear life.

So the Mexican-yank fought his wee heart out and all he could manage was a draw against a 'bum'?

And it's Scotch whisky, it'll stay in the cubbard till the rematch victory!

Just because blinkered yanks boo whenever they don't see completely stationary fighters furiously beating each other senseless doesn't mean it was a clinch-fest.

And Raymundo should've been disqualified for being a scummy Mexican-yank who relied on a lucky punch and a flash KD for a draw.
