He had not shot at winning and quitting early in order to avoid long lasting damage is a perfectly reasonable choice regardless of what keyboard warriors on ESB claim. I wish Abusalamov had made the same decision.

Tor Hamer's quitjob against Glazkov is the only quittage I've found highly suspect lately, other than that, if a fight is lost, you might as well call it a day. I got no problem with that.

It was only a jab, but Ustinov had enough. Just like Dimi in the fight before that.

    JKO11 by accumulation.

He was taking too much beating and he knew that he has lost that match. He took a knee because didn't want to take another punch. His nose was smashed and his faced was red as tomato. It must have been very painful with every punch. Why take more?

Ustinov was taking a viscous beating and had no chance... I don't blame him for a taking a knee, Dimitrenko did the same.... Pulev just beats people down.

Coward= Hamer quit job against Glazkov

Big difference... Mago or his corner should have thrown in the towel, Mago has too much heart..... but that heart will see Mago through his medical issues, I believe he will make a full recovery :good

Team Sauerland paid him to take a dive. Unfortunately Pulev is so featherfisted Ustinov didn't get any opportunities to take a dive, so he just quit in the middle of the 11th round after getting another pillow in the face.

Man, you are a genious! Absolutely true! Same like they paid Dimitrenko before that and Tony Thompson after. And every other fighter that lost to Pulev! Actually TT was so stupid, he did not realize that by being paid to lose to Pulev, he also the chance for a third big money Wlad fight!

I am so impressed by you uncovering the deep plot, I am nominating for a Pulitzer! :deal

Was Ustinov really getting a beating though??? getting beat and getting a beating are two separate things altogether.
Ok so we should expect to see more fighters giving up when they are not doing so well in a fight?? maybe we should add the label "quit" to fighters records?? yes?no??-:)verysad

What i am trying to get my head around, about the Ustinov fight in particular was why he didnt finish the last round. Bummer of a way to lose your first fight and i have supposed that he had a broken nose or cheekbone or something like that.

What will happen if Tua land a few bombs on him? will he quit? will he refuse to lose? will ESB members nod with fashionable approval when fighters quit from now on?:huh:think:hey
