More impressive Welterweight debut- Broner against Paulie or Pacquiao against Oscar?

He was saying that Pacquiao was 30 years old when he fought Oscar at WW.

You know, one of the two fights that this thread is actually about?

 

Polls don't mean anything on ESB. Too many trolls and alts. If you looked at enough polls and saw some crazy results, you would know this.

I'll go with the countless opinions of ESB's best and longest tenured posters that I have read. In addition to the majority of the media who gave a score. Almost all of them for Broner.

I scored the fight a Draw but I can admit when I may not have been the fairest judge, as Paulie has been one of my very favorite fighters for many years now dating back to when he was one of the most hated men in boxing among fans which was only like 2 years ago oddly enough.

 

Actually, Mr. Check-Your-Facts, what do you have to say about the following...

Pacquiao was 24 years old entering the first Barrera fight, and one month away from his 25th birthday.

So, I would go so far as to say that you are wrong and owe that man an apology.

 

My answer is that Pacquiao beating Oscar was a more impressive WW debut. I voted as much.

Just not sure if I voted for the right thing the more I think about it.

I suppose my respect for HOF'ers remains too high even when they are old and late into their careers and even when they are fighting in a division they hadn't fought at in 7 years.

Buuuut I guess that's everyone's opinion too based on the poll results.

Boner sucks.. Old ass Oscar would beat boner by a very wide decision, boner would get schooled. The Oscar who lost to Pac would have no problem beating him.

 

I don't think boxing a decrepit zombie is impressive. That ****** Broner wins by default.

 

I said he was 26, sorry he was one monthe shy of 25. He was not 23. Point is that at 30 years old he was fighting at the highest level for5 years. Broner doesnt have (like the old timers would say) his man muscles yet. the guy is still developing.

I do not get it why do boxing fans always try and beat down upcoming stars? Broner, GGG, Canelo . . . these guys all get such irrational hate its crazy
