Maybe, but Golovkin is the best bet. He has enough power to hurt Ward. He has more skill than any other potential Ward opponent so has a better chance of actually being able to land and use that power. He's also probably pretty quick compared to guys at 168 and above. Ward's style is boring enough without the fights being super uncompetitive as well.

Golovkin isn't a big MW, I think size alone would cause him problems at SMW. For whatever reason the SMW are naturally much bigger guys than the MW's, despite only 8lbs of difference.

Take Arthur Abraham as an example, whilst GGG is a superior fighter to AA, he is also a naturally smaller man (AA did struggle to make the MW limit). Arthur Abraham looked small and his power was ineffective at SMW. I'd fear Golovkin, an even smaller man, would be the same.

Maybe, but not compared to Ward. Ward's jab would connect all night.

Im not sure how you could argue GGG was any quicker than Bad Chad, Kessler, or Abraham. Newsflash, GGG aint quick. And I have problems saying he has more skill than let's say Froch. I think Froch would walk down GGG and put him to sleep. Look at last night, GGG cannot fight going backwards. This is a huge liability. His footwork just ain't there, and he is too used to walking someone down going for the KO. What I normally see happen to guys like this is when they get walked down, they mentally fold and start getting hit. Ward can fight going forwards and backwards. He can also fight on the inside and the outside. This is fact. Ward will get in on the inside where I don't think GGG is good, push him back, counter left hooks, KO. It's just that simple. When Curtis pushed GGG back he lost all balance and any sense of what he wanted to do. That's when he got hit. Unfortunately Curtis does not have the footwork of Andre, nor the power. Shelling up going forward however, was causing GGG problems. Expect that to be his downfall. It's amazing with you guys and these hypejobs. GGG will clear out 160 however.

Ward uses his jab as a throwaway shot. They normally do not have power, he set's people up for the counter left.

I agree GGG isn't quicker than Ward but I want to see Ward in the most competitive fights possible not just schooling slower, less skilled guys than GGG.

    1. GGG isn't quicker than AA or more skilled than Froch? Are you being serious right now?

    2. I'm not saying GGG would win. I'm saying who would be more cometitive against Ward? Who should Ward fight?
Of the guys available who Ward hasn't already schooled, GGG is probably one of the guys who would give Ward the best fight.

Ward will keep ducking GGG, he's not man enough to board a plane, much less to fight a beast like Godlovkin

He makes easy work of most people. I'd be more excited for Ward vs GGG than Ward vs Edwin Rodriguez personally but that's just me.

this is spot on the square circle... :deal

Ward just laughs at how GGG gets hit by right hands and hooks.. Plus GGG cuts off the rings and walks you down.. SHIIIT... Ward invites that pressure on the ropes or in the center of the ring.. GGG is a barbarian & Ward is a Wizard Technician.. GGG gets slept or fustrated and looses a 12rd dec..
