Why did your idol and scientific body expert take off 5 extra lbs of muscle on Spinks when he didn't have to?

    Was it:

1: The highly regarded and super scientific expert Mackie that made a mistake?

2: The scale the highly regarded and super scientific expert provided for Spinks in his Camp was off by 5 lbs?

3: The highly regarded and super scientific expert Mackie felt that 170 lbs was optimal for Spinks?

Mackie felt that 170, with 4.6% body fat was where he wanted Spinks.... He would have lost more muscle draining that last 10, do you not understand that? You can only drain so much before you are losing muscle.. Not all of that 10 lbs would have been water weight... It is simple science.

A man at 190 not training with 8% body fat, is not a MW... A significant amount of muscle would be lost... He would have walked in like Chad Dawson at 168...

I can't pal, because it doesn't make any sense. He was cutting to 165 as an amateur, by your own logic, he would have been even bigger as a pro..

Spinks was just too solid in his natural weight... LHW was him at his peak powers, MW would not be, even with 24 hours to re-hydrate won't make up for the muscle loss.

Every fighter has a different set of circumstances surrounding them.

What was Keith's natural walking around weight?

Did he have to cut muscle?

What was his body fat percentage?

Hopkins is 6'1, and he fought at 160 for years quite comfortably. But his walking around weight while he fought at 160, was between 165-170.

When he fought at 175, he used to walk around at 185.

Mackie's meticulous, so I think that there must have been a reason why Spinks weighed 170 against Sears.

That was the lightest he weighed while he was a pro at LHW.

That is only because Roy haters like to downplay his accomplishments by saying Spinks COULD have done the same thing with 24 hour weigh ins.

Since we are playing could have, should have, would have, I think even the biggest Jones haters would admit that there is no way in hell Spinks would have been THE HW champ in Lennox Lewis' era.. So it is a moot point anyway.

Lennox, Klits, Sanders, Holyfield, Tyson (obviously) beats him... Hell maybe even John Ruiz would hug him to death.

    It's getting ridiculous now.

Why would he even have contemplated going down another 10 pounds?

Guys like Chavez have huge weight advantages over their opponents, but they're not cutting muscle, only fat.

Why after cutting 25 pounds, that included 8 pounds of actual muscle, would Spinks have gone even further to 160?

He'd have had to lose 35 pounds of fat and muscle, and for what exactly?

What would have been the benefit?

That he'd hope to outweigh his opponent?

    It's a joke!

Now you can see why I call him Dailey.

Loudon, fighters NEVER come in weight drained with 24 hours to re-hydrate!!! There is no such thing as muscle damage, and if there was, It would be cured in 24 hours of drinking water, and there is no excuse not to perform at your highest level!:patsch

See you say this but as we have discussed before Ruiz wasn't allowed to use the Jab & Grab against Roy (for some odd reason) like he was against everyone else. Nady literally would run in and break them up in the first 3 rounds when Ruiz tried this. Very very odd. Jones didn't fight the same Ruiz everyone else did. He had a free pass from the referee to just stand there and pot shot without repercussions.

We have been through this before, and you refuse to give Jones ANY credit for his footspeed, handspeed, power that was hurting Ruiz and not being there for Ruiz to grab and hug.. So it is pointless to debate with you there.

You say it was not the same Ruiz as the others fought? The difference is Ruiz had never fought anyone even close to the way Roy fought him. He was dumbfounded. It was a combination of speed and power that he had never come close to seeing before.

Yes go watch the fight Jay Nady put a stop to the Jab & Grab. Ruiz walked Jones to the ropes to use his mauling tactics and Nady forced them apart and told Ruiz he was taking points if he did it again. It was only the 2nd round :lol::lol:

Jones had zilch to do with it and to act like he did is the ultimate in nuthuggery. :rofl So according to you Jay Nady had no effect on Ruiz not being able to clinch? Is that what you are trying to tell us?
