prime pavlik vs ggg

this would be a hell of a fight.... who do you think would take it?

 

Golovkin knocks him out in the second half of the fight

 

I'll roll with Pavlik to big and he would walk GGG down. Size would play a major factor in this

 

GGG knocks him out before the pub closed.

 

I think pavlik would be too tough for GGG. Pav has a better jab but GGG has better punch variety... GGG sets up everything off the jab but he won't out jab pavlik being the smaller guy.

I'd go with pavlik late TKO in a brutal jab off

 

that and GGG is open down the middle. One punch won't do it against either fighter . KP wins this war of attrition.

 

Pavlik would get beaten badly

 

Pavlik has the win over Miranda and the two wins over Taylor. Nothing on GGG's resume comes close. Until GGG beats somebody I gotta go with Pavlik...

Are you guys crazy? Golovkin is a class above pavlik. Golovkin would murder pavlik.

 

I voted GGG KO/TKO. I think GGG has better defense and boxing ability.

 

I think this is pretty 50/50.

Can't imagine anyone breaking Pavlik though.

 

I don't know. I'm thinking Golovkin punches harder than Martinez, who was able to bust Pavlik up a bit. Golovkin has enough boxing ability to contain Pavlik's basic arsenal. Pavlik would get cut and stopped on his feet a la Rosado, but later IMO... at some point in the championship rounds.

 

Remember that we are talking about a prime Pavlik here. Not the one that fought Martinez. Kelly was going through a lot of problems e.g. alcoholism, staph infection before Martinez.

I guess the version that comes to my mind is the one that knocked out Jermain Taylor.

GGG probably does punch harder than Martinez but doesn't have anywhere near Sergio's footwork. He wouldn't be able to avoid that heavy artillery from Pavlik.

 

It would be a hard night's work for GGG.

But he would probably send pavlik to the bar, sorry home early.
