Good point. Dawson in particular couldn't have been the same, though the way it played out it didn't really matter. Still 4 fights with 3 top tenners might still have him ahead.
My voting order would be: 1. Floyd Mayweather - as he basically re-confirmed his status as the top dog in two different weight divisions by taking on the top contender in both. I`m no ***** but thast a very good year IMO. 2. Tim Bradley - as he was in a Fight of the year candidate and had a one sided domination of a future hall of famer. 2013 established his credability as one of the top p4p fighters in the sport. That is no small accomplishment. He deserves second place in my vote. 3. Addonis Stevenson - Was the most active of the contenders. TKOed the only guy to beat him. TKOed the long reigning consensus best guy in the LHW division, beat the **** out of a solid former champion. And should he get the win over his number one contender that would be enough to justify him as one the third most impressive fighter of the year. Rigo probably had the best performance of the year. But that was only one fight.
Golovkin fougfht Ishida who was coming off 2 losses & was essentially a 154 pounder, as was Rosado. Stevens best win at 160 was Ayala!? So no real top 10 contenders there!
I think Kovalev should get some recognition too. Gabriel Campillo Cornelius White Nathan Cleverly Not a bad year at all.
