De La Hoya fought Hopkins who was the lineal champion, something Golovkin is not. Therefore Martinez should be the man in line at middle

The only fight left? Please. Martinez, Garcia, Bradley, the Lara/ Trout winner, the Broner/ Maidana winner, Provodinkov? All off these guys are in the mix too

Golovkin has been calling Martinez and Quillin out for a long time now, but I doubt if either will fight him. Void will not go anywhere near Golovkin not even at 154!!!

GGG is already pretty lean in body, it doesnt look like he has an ounce of fat on him, he cuts to 154 he will be drained guranteed!!!

He cuts down to 154 and he will be losing muscle and he will not be at full strength

It's lose, lose for Floyd. He fights Golovkin at 160 which will be an extremely difficult task. Mayweather is essentially a welterweight. Or he fights Golovkin at 154.

If he wins at 154 he will be criticized & the talk will be that Golovkin was drained.

If he wins at 160 it will be Golovkin was never that good & had never fought anyone.

If he loses he won't get the credit for taking the challenge

While Mayweather-GGG would definitely be a must watch fight I don't understand why anyone would expect GGG or any MW bout to at least 2015 if at all. Continuous movement up and down in weight is bad for the body especially at an older age. If Mayweather was to move towards 160 I would bet on his last two fights and in that scenario probably the last. I don't know if there is enough comp at MW for GGG to stay til then with him fighting 4 times a year.

But say between Feb 14-May 15 GGG beats Quillin, Murry, Rubio, Barker & Martinez to become undisputed MW Champ. In that same time span Mayweather beats Garcia, Pacquiao/Bradley(fights rematch winner) @ 47 & Lara/Alvarez II(winner is probably best at JMW) @ 54 remaining undisputed at WW/JMW.

That would be the biggest fight in boxing probably bigger than Mayweather-Pacquiao

48-0 undisputed WW/JMW Champ Mayweather vs 33-0 Undisputed MW Champ Golovkin.
That would be a hell of a fight.

If floyd is going to fight a middleweight it has to be Martinez who actually has a solid resume and is the lineal champ. Even if floyd beat GGG....what the **** has GGG done?
