With all the hype on GGG he should move up, from what I've seen GGG is a good fighter so moving up shouldn't be a big problem. Everyone doesn't move through weight classes he could stay at MW an have a long run, but fans are some of the biggest cry babies when it comes to there fighter.

A guy like Broner jumps 2 weights and wins a title and its looked at as nothing.
Mayweather has to move to his 5/6 weight class to be considered legit by some.
A guy like Ward gets disrespect because he hasn't moved to LHW.
The Guerrero's & Rios who aren't on that level and might not ever be can jump from SFW to WW
But GGG who a lot of people feel will be great can't move up one. With him fighting 4 times a year I would like to see him clean out MW before moving up but the idea that he can't or shouldn't is ridiculous.

Watch his last interview. He says Quillin, Martinez, Geale. Someone always yells "Mayweather" and he says sure. He's not calling Floyd out, there's no need for tears.

only think we need,is get rid of all the weightclasses.big reason why in the 80's etc.. we got so many great matchups.LW,WW,MW,LHW no need for hundreds of weightclasses.

alvarez, lara, trout etc all would be in mw. probably froch, ward, kessler,JCC etc.. and now add GGG,martinez, quillin etc.. amazing division!

and yes some are little bigger then others,i don't care.boxing is too watered down now.

Broner did not jump two weight classes he just stop boiling down. Hes a natural WW just like GGG is a natural MW. Cant compare Broners move up the weights to Golovkin gaining 8lbs of muscle to fight at SMW (a task that would take 9-12months without PEDS). There are legitimate MW champions in Quillin (his resume is on a par with GGG)Barker and Martinez there for him to fight and genuine MW contenders in Murray, Geale and Mora. Why move up? Fight those 6 and by that time the like of Cotto, Canelo and Trout may have moved up and pose him new exciting threats.

People calling for him to move up should consider Ward as well. He's cleared up the division. Wht doesnt he move up and fight the Stevenson, Kovalev and Hopkins of the world.

Why isn't GG required to "challenge himself" like Broner and Mayweather.

He doesn't have to abandon his IBO WBA "special" title if he fights a 168 fighter.....he can keep those trinkets.

Why wouldn't you want him to step UP and end Ward's career???:think
That sure would help his non-existant legacy.

At least Broner is challenging himself:deal

I guess at 24 he makes GG look like the weird looking pu.ssy he really is...and that leaves you butthurt.:hi:

how do we know this? which fighter comparable to Froch or Kessler has GGG Beaten? Trinidad went all the way to 168 and was a puncher who was really a 154 pounder. Trinidad proved his talent vs the best at and around his weight. GGGG is good and exciting to watch, but the hyberbole surrounding this guy is overwhelming. When is he going to fight a really good opponent? instead of guys 5'6" tall or Jr middleweights coming up in weight. I think Froch and Ward would be favored vs GGG and if a guy 5'10" who can punch and is supposedly that good cant beat the best at 168 then he isn't all he is cracked up to be.

Of course he beats today's version of Kessler and i would favor him against hooked-nose as well.

I guess after the Stevens Fight his fans saw that he isn't exactly the indestructible force he was being made out to be, they don't want to see him lose at 168, which is in the minds of many after his last fight, there is enough evidence to wonder, can he indeed beat a Froch or a Ward? I am not a Golovkin fanboy or detractor but the hype is annoying when one considers he hasn't done **** and is 31, where was he 5 yrs ago? who has he beat? whats he done that so spectacular to warrant this hype?

he needs to start fighting a whole better class of opponents, they are all at 168.
