ANTHONY Mundine has coaxed US great Shane Mosley back to Sydney - with the pair set to announce on Thursday that the fight is back on for November.

The cynic in me would not at all be surprised if this was the plan hatched 3 weeks ago (prior to Mosley leaving). I mean it's no secret ticket sales were dreadful and PPV's not as high as hoped. So...fly Mosley back to the states...make a huge deal about it...create focus/interest...bag Mosley for doing a "runner"...fly Mosley back in...cue the Mundine trash talk.....and make more cash than expected to make the first time. Again that's just the cynic in me...it's hard to tell with Mundine/Khoder what's real and what's bullsh!t. Although i'm sure Jeff "wristwatch" Fenech would disagree with my cynical view considering he lost so much coin. On a side note....I am a huge fan of Sugar Shane and think he will be way to classy for Mundine...but as an Aussie...I hope Mundine wins well and actually gets a gig against someone decent from the States, although 99% certain neither will happen

Boxings an individual sport why support someone you don't like because they are from the same country as you if you don't like them?

Mate I never said I didn't like Mundine, in actual fact I was once a huge fan...I still follow him but am no longer a staunch defender of him. He's always talked the big fights and I always expected that one day he'd follow through so I'd tell who ever would listen "you wait and see he'll beat the top dogs"...but in the end it was just talk and now he is on the decline (judging by his terrible fight against Geale and before that numerous no names). Again I wish him the best, but Sugar Shane is to be respected both inside and outside the ring...his fists do all his talking which I respect greatly and I think he'd outclass Choc...even at 42 and one fight in 2/3 years

I feel very much the same. He's had more pulling power than any aussie fighter since Kostya Tszyu so no one can say he couldn't of got the big fights if he wanted them.

Some of the guys that were let down, might be interested providing their initial purse is increased up to 50%, while others simply don't want to know. Rumours were getting around thick & fast there was drama days before, but were assured it'll be all A OK.
