I'm very glad to hear he'll live. I just hope now that he doesn't face the same level of damage McClellan had. I wonder how much of the translation that Magomed was bringing up about his injuries during the breaks were making it back to John David Jackson?
He was placed chemical induced Coma by the medical staff to remove the blood clot. He didn't just go into a comatose state.
john david jackson is a very experienced and highly respected trainer, why he didn't stop the fight or see something is not right is beyond me. there's an address money in another website. i will probably send some because the medical bills must be raking in for him and his family. i think boxing is the last thing on his family's mind. hopefully he just lives a normal life after this.
Horrible news. I hope he makes it out of this in as good of health as possible. I would have hated to think back on this fight and remember rooting for Perez every time he connected. --- I was saying aloud to myself during the fight that the corner should stop the fight in the 6th round. Not just for the sake of his injured face, but also from my opinion that Magomed had close to no chance of turning the fight around by that point. Bad corner... Very bad corner. It was obvious to everyone who watched but them that the plug should have been pulled in round 6.

Thank you brother. I did not know how to do that and with so many slick rics out there this gives us validation :good :smoke
I am glad there is a fund to help pay for Mago's medical bills. If Mago had been in any other major industrialized country he would not have that problem. America is not a country you want to be in whenever you are sick!
Thanks for the link. So crazy to think about the guy we watched fight a few days ago is now unconscious in a hospital bed from it. What a brutal sport boxing is. I know all boxing fans are hoping for a full recovery for this warrior.
I just rewatched the fight and I may have been a little hard on his corner. It was a brutal, competitive fight where BOTH guys took a beating and there was a LOT on the line. Within that context, the absolute earliest the fight could have been stopped was between the 7th and 8th rounds. It was at that point that Mago seemed very aware of\distracted by the swelling in his face. Even then, he was STILL THROWING HARD SHOTS in the 8th and 9th rounds AND wobbled Perez in the 10th! Everyone(including me) has been looking for a scapegoat, but I'm honestly not sure how this injury could have been prevented...given the violent nature of the sport, the competitive nature of the fight and what a win would have meant to either guy.
