In about 83 Young lost a UD decision to one of our fighters Jeff Malcolm. Malcolm is an acclaimed fighter here but by world standards doesn't rate a mention. I've never seen the fight so am not too sure if Joe had an off night or Jeff had possibly his best night in over 100 fights. This would have been around Young's prime
