PBF beat Hatton at his own game on the inside broke him down and made him dance with the ring post. This fight was an underrated clinic if anything.:deal

Watched this fight the other day as it happens...Lederman had it 2 points for Floyd at the time of the stoppage, BUT had said he wouldn't have deducted the point from Hatton, so in pure scoring terms (I know it's irrelevant, but it was an AWFUL decision), Floyd was one point up according to Lederman.

I saw it as an extremely close fight (I was quite pissed when I watched it live and hadn't seen it for years), and the actual joke was the fact that Hatton had only 1/2 rounds on the ringside judges scorecards...and Lampley made that point at the end of the broadcast. It's not often Lederman is that far off with his cards, this and the Pac/Bradley fight being two notable ones I can think of.

I do believe Floyd would have pipped it had Hatton not been KO'd, but I also think Hatton got reckless when he realised he was getting no help whatsoever from Cortez, and Cortez did basically ruin and interesting and competitive fight...more competitive than any other recent Mayweather fight. Hatton got a bit tired, and a bit disheartened after the point deduction. That the ringside judges didn't have the fight closer was a fu(king joke!

That was a pretty tough fight for Floyd, despite Hatton falling down like a drunk at the end.

Hatton at 140 was a monster pre Kostya. People forget he fought May at 147 where he lost his weight advantage and his style had changed considerably. He stopped jabbing and moving his head as much

Cortez ruined what could have been an epic fight. I think we all agree Floyd would have won either way, but it would have been a close points decision.

I still stand firm, 140 Floyd vs Hatton around 2004 would have been a very close fight. As would Cotto/Hatton/Floyd at 140

    Shame we missed them

Oh absolutely. In fact, if you re-watch the 10th round in slow motion you'll see Cortez blow some "look dead when Floyd lands a left hook" dust in Hatton's face. Cheatin' ass.
