Fighter of the year 2013?

Has to be Bradley or Garcia (I voted Bradley). Hands down. I dont think a case can be made for anyone else. Mayweather and GGG nuthuggers are going to be surprised when their man doesnt get it.

 

Yaegashi warrants mention if he defeats Sosa. Beating lineal champ Igarashi for the flyweight championship and defending twice is nothing at all to sneeze at.

 

Yeah, really whichever of them comes out ahead should be the leading candidate but only about 10% of boxing fans will realize that. :yep :-(

Yes but ESB isnt voting. ESB runs on popularity and huge bias, so it is expected that GGG and Floyd will win as they are the most popular. Real boxing experts will be voting, and they will vote objectively. Objectively, Garcia and Bradley are far far ahead of their competition this year and it can only be them who can win. The interesting question is which one of these will win. Im going with Bradley.

 

Really? I'd say that both Stevenson and Kovalev have achieved as much or more, been more active and had more decisive victories, assuming wins on Nov 30th for both.

Why, objectively, are Bradley and Garcia 'far, far ahead' of these two?

But you can argue that those voters have biases too. Probably there is a bias among the voters that the winner must have a certain amount of star power, or at least potential star power. Rigo might have had the best performance of the year, totally shutting out Ring's 2012 fighter of the year. But what chance does Rigo have of winning 2013 fighter of the year? Very little. Because he does not have the star power, the earnings, or the spectacular knockouts that the voters favor.
