The first offer was a joke and an attempt from Mayweather to drive team Pacquiao off, which he successfully did. Otherwise, why did he change his offer later to $40 million after Pacquiao finally decided to accept the tests?. It's obvious and clear, because he knew his offer and the insults and complete disrespect to Pacquiao's country and entire career would have driven them off.

Nonsense. If I keep dominating at the higher level and doing what I'm supposed to do and more impressively there's no way in hell I'll get a lesser offer unless the company I work for would rather drive me off to another offers. Wasn't Mayweather's response to his joke money offer "What if I lose?", clearly stating Pacquiao has another option in politics while he's stuck with boxing and only boxing.

This is a load of garbage to completely discredit what Pacquiao has achieved ever since his move up, nothing but your opinion and it's obviously 100% biased and troll-friendly. If what he has done at 140+ unimpressive then why did everyone pick DLH to demolish him and called Pacquiao a money hungry sell-out?. Now that he has successfully done the impossible it's not impressive anymore to haters, sure. If it wasn't impressive then I guess this sport is a joke and anyone could do the same and more, hell anyone should just pass by and collect the #1 P4P title and all the money it provides. After all, it's easy and unimpressive.

If he believed he's fighting a cheater then he might as well stay away from him, which he successfully did.

This is a promotional tactic, nothing new to those following the sport. Remember, I hope you do, when Arum used the exact similar tactic with Mayweather-Concreto as he did Hearns-Leonard till that fight eventually happened?. He openly and publicly called Leonoard a coward, chicken and so on and even sent Hearns to his press conferences to gain the media's attention. This is what a successful promoter does, he's not paid big numbers to stay quiet.

Because this forum, as of late, is full of sane people. The fact that you really believe that almost immediately turns me off this discussion.

Yes I do believe that and will continue to do so for obvious reasons. Weren't the media all over Mayweather bashing him nonstop for his new "rule" for one fight back then?. Try to state your opinion based on events at the time, not based on events today. No offense, but if you're incapable of doing so there's nothing different between you and the average overweight bumpkin walking the streets.

He's a boxer to you, but to the public(especially his country, which he's on his way to officially lead) he's looked at as a public figure, extremely important person, idol, role model and all that follows. Nothing different between these qualities or the qualities of a messiah if you think about it.

First negotiations everything looked normal as all neogitations NORMALLY(key word here) till Mayweather all of a sudden jumped out with "You must accept my new rule to prove to me you're not a cheater, sign to be tested by an organization I'm going to handpick to favor my interests and needs". Clearly, Pacquiao and his team laughed out loud and walked away as they were clearly encouraged to. Then the second negotiations start "I'm glad you finally accepted my ridiculous demand, now accept another. You get $40 million while I get all the rest including 100% of the PPV earnings because when you retire you have a future in politics and when I do, I have nothing what I have earned here in boxing". That second offer didn't only make Pac and his team laugh their asses off, but the entire media followed. Only imbeciles of the first order would consider these offers serious.

Neither of these guys really wanted to fight each other. They both had too much to risk.

If one is to weigh the blame than Floyd has to shoulder most of the responsibility. His emotional rants show his true character. He was not afraid of pac per se, but he knew stylistically that his rapid fire shots both hurt and are more difficult to avoid than the average fighters 1-3 punch combos. Not to mention the shoulder roll in an orthodox stance is far less effective against south paws in general.

Another note is that the steroid accusations arise from FMJ's racist view that only black athletes can perform at that level so that Asian midget has to be cheating.

You're the champion and main man in the sport coming off extraordinary victories that has the entire world staring and cheering for, someone ranked officially below you is barking at you "Cheater, come take new tests carefully handpicked by me and prove me wrong. You are Filipino, after I beat you, you shall make me sushi!". Are you going to oblige?

Nothing is wrong with drug testing.. Its just that Pac was under Bob Arum and the opponent being pushed is Floyd.

We all know what's going on with Floyd and Bob. That whole testing bull**** was just smokescreen. You can't mix those 2.

He had the intention, its just that Pac was under Bob. And we all know what that means.

Then why did he sign the contract to fight him in 2009?

No contract was signed. Stop making stories up. Even Schaefer clearly said he never remembers any contract being sent and that it never happened.

I think Floyd was willing to fight Pacquiao based on him agreeing to the contract in the 2009/2010 negotiations.

I believe that Floyd believes Pacquiao is/was on PED's and that he knew proposing the testing would result in: A) Pacquiao getting off said PED's for the fight or B) Pacquiao not accepting the fight.

If Pac wasn't worried about the cutoff date, Floyd would've beat his ass already.
