what's the appeal of watching heavyweights aside from how big they are?

from purely a boxing perspective, theres absolutely zero appeal in heavyweight fights.

its like preferring to watch stoke city over barcelona

do they get such hype just because they are heavyweights?

Because there is a high % chance that one fat guy will run out of gas after 2 rounds and get ko'd.

zero appeal? there are 'sluggers' and no skill guys in every weight division.

appeal to me is same as the others, except that with the HW's, part of the fun is that they are the hardest punchers in boxing (and most likely, any sport).

The HW champ is still, to my mind anyway, the baddest man on the planet. At least the baddest man in boxing. Nonsense about someone from LHW or MW beating the HW champ is ridiculous. Try boxing someone that outweighs you by 100lbs and has 7 inches in height on you next time ur at the gym.

HW's KO people more than any other division.

Any the no skill thing is just ridiculous. Ask any bigger guy, your toolkit is a bit different. You adjust your skills/work on things that will work for you as a bigger guy. Im 160 6'0, If im 260 6'7 I don't fight the same.

    Their size is the appeal.
People want to see dinosaurs fight, man. Would you want to see two guppies fight, or two sharks?

baddest man on the planet? so what you mean is you watch them because they're the men you wish you were.

not sure why you went off on a tangent about lhw/mw's beating heavyweights. has anyone made that point here? is there an imaginary someone you're arguing with here?

why is the no skill thing ridiculous? :huh i watch boxing to see boxers, not lumbering oafs looking uncoordinated

bla bla. yeah its coz I wish I was a heavyweight.

the argument ur making is that ABSURDLY tired overdone 'hw's aren't skilled, hw division sucks, etc etc'. your implying that lower weight classes are much more skilled or talented or whatever. troll on

Yeah I remember some guy called Muhammad Ali, you should of seen him plodding around the ring looking like he had 1 left foot and a peg leg, punching himself in the face etc. He really was a lumbering, uncoordinated oaf.
