People talk trash about Veit because Calzaghe blasted him inside a round. However Veit has some serious skills that could trouble Ward.
He was 6'3" with a damn good jab.

How do you think Ward would fair against this underrated German?
No trolling serious boxing talk only.

*I vaguely remember the name... but honestly, if Cal could KO him early, and we all know Cal wasn't a KO puncher, then Veit would be in real trouble with a harder puncher like Froch or Ward.

I'm not sure Ward punches harder than Calzaghe slapped. And Froch isn't a monster puncher either.

Ward is no mean puncher but Joe is a true feather fist. Froch isn't a one punch KO but hes harder than both of them combined.

Veit by comparison had a career built on 4-6 rounders, he was an amateur compared to any of them and should never have fought above regional level, let alone be fighting for a world title (twice! versus the same guy. for some strange reason)

Ward would probably sack his manager if he lined him up with someone as paltry as Veit, Ward fights at World level, not regional.

There is no way Ward would get in the ring for someone as insubstantial as Veit, you would need to be very fake to defend a world title against him even once

Plus Ward would never **** on his loyal fans in such a way, he respects them.

    This is an interesting thread.
I have an old post with regards to Veit -

Veit has a better SMW resume than most of the current top 10 and holds a victory over a current top 10 LHW active today. Veit beat Beyer several times as an amateur.

I think it would be a good match up for Ward, with Veits solid jab and height.
Its very tough to call past match ups because you never know for sure.
One thing I do think is that if Veit was in this era, he would have gone further in his career.

Yet Veit was able to take Locks punches who put Haye down, able to take current top 10 LHW and former LHW world champ Braehmers 0, take Brewers punches and Ward isnt a puncher even if he is strong

He was and has a better resume than many of the current top 10 as well as winning an interim title. In fact he has a win over a current top 10 LHW who is a former world champ
Ward is fighting Rodriguez next whos resume is not as strong as Veits

no lies bailey, veit is nothing. Rodriguez is Wards easiest fight in years, funny how you picked that one. you write drivel.

comparing Wards WORST opps with Calzaghes TOP ones? And still failing in your argument! only failey manages that.

And no digging up your old failed posts either, no one wants to read them once they failed years ago.

So does Darnell Boone. So what? Doesn't make him world class.

Hell, Braehmer? What exactly has he done that would make him a big win?

Rodriguez would wreck Veit. Veit wouldn't sniff the top 10 today......heck, he didn't even make it back then.

Why do Calzaghe fans try to make out that these type of guys are world beaters when they are clearly not.
