It's always a smart move for an Irish fight to go straight to America when they turn pro.

I don't see any point in fighting in Britain when the best opportunities are in the States for an Irish fighter.

He was a solid fighter in the olympics and looked ready for the pros. Would have thought the british promoters would have been interested in picking him up. Think he will make it to world level quite soon.

Well, it's a calculated risk really - Irish fighters are very marketable in the USA, so as an individual he's very salable to a mass audience of 'Irish' Americans; whether that exceeds the likely support he would have received from fighting regularly in Belfast, or indeed elsewhere in Britain, remains to be seen - I'm guessing he'll do very well.

why would he box in belfast or Britain??

Plan is for him to fight in both USA and the South of Ireland.

British tv like sky don't give a **** about irish fighters, why do you think Frampton moved to boxnation or why do you think Eddie hasn't signed more Irish fighters, not like their wasn't quality to sign, America is the place to go he should be able to get a good following and i think he goes far

They don't give a '****' about anyone so long as they get decent receipts. It's a business.

With the numbers frampton gets in belfast it would have been great for nevin to build himself up on the undercards and build his following. Plus with nevin at 126 and frampton at 122 could be a mega fight in the future.

Not heard much of his U.S promoter, hopefully he's capable of securing tv dates.

i dont get why eddie is only focusing in england

wales and ireland are producing better talent than england despite having smaller populations they are nations that can really fight

nevin is gonna be a star, serious talent with the swagger to go with it

Agreed. Eddie will spend the next 5 years answering questions about Carl Frampton. Nevin & Luke Campbell are very closely matched but with Nevin being younger I think is the better prospect.

I think he's about 2 years younger? That difference is immaterial.

How far do people think he will go? I think how far he goes will all depend on his power, his able to hit opponents very cleanly and if he has good power he could go a long way, however if he doesnt i think fighter will walk him down. Against Valdez in the olympics he got a count and was running for the last round and that was only a 3 round fight. His got a great style though very enjoyable to watch and if he has power i think he would be really like Prince Naseem
