Golovkin in the ring is like a threshing machine cutting through a wheat field. Or a tank that’s firing live ammunition. He’s exciting to watch, methodically destroys opponents, and has the highest knockout percentage of any current belt holder in boxing.

Some fighters keep the “0” on their record by avoiding other top fighters. To date, Golovkin hasn’t turned down a single opponent. He has always been willing to fight the best available opposition. But other fighters with belts and fighters who are in line to fight one of the other middleweight belt holders have distanced themselves from Gennady.

    What's with the poll options?

I wanted to vote for 'not yet but he will be'

Or 'if any P4P ranked fighters manned up and fought him he would be'

Or 'if Broner is, then GGG for sure is'

Its not about fantasy wins, or who you're willing to fight. Its who you fought. And he hasnt fought anyone who makes him P4P.

He's where Floyd was back in the day. High risk, Low Reward. He should follow Floyds blueprint and surge through weight classes, making yourself the mandatory in other weight classes and beating those fighters. If he were to become a legitimate contender or Champ at 168, he'd be P4P easily.

Until then, No. Because once again its not about who you're willing to fight, its who you fight. And as of today he hasnt fought anyone worth mentioning.

Aren't you one of the guys that argue for Broner's p4p status?

Broner is a 3 division champion. Super Featherweight, Lightweight, and Welterweight. Regardless if he squeaked by Paulie. Or if he fought a "faded" Paulie. He still won, and Paulie was still champ.

He's fought better opposition than GGG.

Yeah it was a close fight that I THOUGHT he won. He wasnt active enough, or serious enough, but I still thought he won.

So you think all world champions earn their titles by beating bums like Vincente Rodriguez.

3 weight world champion. :patschGet real. He's a 3 weight alaphbet title holder. There is a difference, a big difference.

He's never been a TBR, Ring, Boxing Scene, Lineal or anything else that takes rankings serious champion.

Maybe he should have. But he wasnt. Stick to the facts man. He won the fight, and IS a 3 division world champion. What else matters? :bart
