He had shitload of $$$ and nothing to prove.

At the same time the fight with Vitali showed he is not getting any younger (sure, he was out of shape... but also keeping in shape is something that gets more difficult with age). If anything, I would say he was just too lazy to take the risk.

He realized he couldn't half ass his way through training if he wanted to stay. Vitali gave him the fight of his life and was eager for a repeat performance. He couldn't count on getting the Big K cut again, and he was approaching that age when heavyweights should retire. Vitali makes fighting at 42 look easy, but Lewis didn't have his discipline or his unique position of being so much better than the competition that even advanced age couldn't stop him.

So Lewis looked at it from a perspective of a lazy, wealthy, fat Rastafarian and went on to relax in the sun, a rest much deserved after soundly beating a prime Mike Tyson.

no one who gets tkoed before half time ever gets a deserved rematch in the history of boxing ....except when a klittard is talking about klit.

Great discussion this. Not read all the posts, but for what its worth, which isn't much.Regarding Lewis/Klitshchko:Two top 10 ever heavyweights.Nothing in the fight when it was stopped.Well never know what would have happened.Lewis was probably happy with the result.

look at you, you little ****.

Lennox is a puss, that chickened-out from a Vitali rematch.
    Everyone knows that.

Chavez was old when he fought DelaHoya, so its no big deal.

Sugar Ray Robinson QUIT against Joey Maxim.
Meldrick Tayloy QUIT against Chavez Sr.
Roger Mayweather QUIT against Chavez Jr.
    Tyson QUIT against Kevin McBride
    Tyson QUIT against Danny Williams
    Chad Dawson QUIT against Ward

and just recently, STevens QUIT against GGG.:rofl

    QUITTERS!!:rofl:lol:

the reality is that Vitali has asked Lennox for a rematch, and Lennox avoids Vital for years, and just recently priced himself out with a $100 millon demand.:rofl:rofl:rofl:lol::nut

even other posters know that Lennox is scared of Vitali:

The £/$100million thing was a throw away joke of a comment Lennox gave in answer to a question a journalist asked him as he was announcing his intention to search for talented young boxers and aid their development. It was not intended to be taken seriously.

These threads attract the worst people. TKO6 threads are ALWAYS racial and nothing else. Hell, I remember some idiot saying that the stickied TKO6 thread would disgrace Ukrainians.

McCall was a former WBC Champion- BECAUSE HE BEAT LEWIS

Golota lost all his big fights

Akinwande was former WBO Champion and he was garbage and the WBO title was not recognised back then and you had to surrender it to even challenge for of the big three.

Briggs was Lineal Champion because he bested an ancient foreman, I like shannon but while this win in effect technically made Lewis the man, it was not a career defining victory.

Mavrovic gave Lennox a good fight , and ?

Holyfield had a career of wars and was 39 years old

Grant Botha and tua were good wins they were not amazing , they have been beated by the usual gang at those times,

Mercer won that fight in many peoples eyes but Lennox never gave rematches when he had the advantage, so his claims to beat all boxers kind of stunk when he was granted rematches but never gave them , like a 3rd holy fight, a rematch with mercer or vitali were all legit rematches.

Lennox also NEVER fought a left handed guy in his entire professional career, he even dodged them at the journeyman level, and even surrendered his IBF title to avoid a world class southpaw.

Thats a very eye opening stat.

Lewis did fight one southpaw early on in his career, a guy called Greg Gorell, the fights on you tube.

Hardcore Klitschko nuthuggers keep spouting this untruth in an attempt to give credence to their belief that Lewis avoided Byrd when in reality nobody wanted that fight other than Byrd and his promoter.
