you need to pick, say, worst to worst - say Pudwill to Green. Or Mcintyre to Green. Now theres a difference. You must understand this, so why aren't you doing the logical thing?

I can't let you get away with spit shining Veit. He was not world class. He and he wouldn't be top 10 today. He wasn't even top 10 back then, when the division was pretty damned weak. He was a wbo ranked guy, and that's about it.....and that really isn't saying anything back then.

Rodriguez would beat Veit handily. You just have to watch each guy to see that. And no, he isn't great.

 

Ward would refuse to fight Veit unless the fight takes place in Ward's home town with Ward's personal referee, judges, boxing commission. Ward would have insisted that Veit take the PED test while Ward would refuse to take the test. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, isn't Ward doing that in his next fight? What is Ward trying to hide by refusing to take the PED test?

With Braehmer the fact he is still top 10 all these years after Veit beats him says alot for Veit

Of course he would be top 10. Look at the current top 10 where many have far weaker resumes than Veit.

You keep calling Ward the best SMW ever, but is that based on resume or ability that you feel that?

Why when Veit has a stronger resume than many of the current top 10 do you not think he would be in the top 10?
the SMW division is weak today, after Ward the next top fighter is an old fighter who lost to a faded unwell fighter previously. Many have very weak resumes, just look at the resumes of (and I like these fighters) rodriguez, Oousthuizen, DeGale and Groves even, then compare their resumes to Veits.
I would instantly favour Veit over Oousthuizen, Abraham, Steiglitz, Rodriguez in the current top 10 today.


What is funny is how Veit beats Brewer in a good display, wins a world int title, has a good resume, went 45-1, or 48-2 after 2 losses to Calzaghe, beats Braehmer who became a world champ etc.
Suddenly Brewer was shot which seems odd in that he gave a good display against the best SMW ever and beat Pemberton who became top 10, was on a run of 3 wins after Calzaghe but was suddenly shot because Veit handled him

I am talking like that. Its the only way to compare opponents - like for like, best against best or worst against worst.

I pointed that you failed to do this, in fact you did the reverse of what is logical. If you cant manage it then don't reply.

Secondly, Dawson, Abraham and Bika are not weak opponents like Veit at all, they win and defend real world titles, even Bika the weakest of these three has won a full world title albeit flukily. Even Green would knock Veit out.

i'm not saying that Veit was amazing or anything. i'm just saying that you're doing the man a disservice by claiming he wasn't a good fighter when he in fact was.

fighters who aren't good don't go beating the likes of Brahmer you know. there's also a few other solid wins there.

the top ten was much stronger back then than it is now. apart from the top 3/4, anyone can come and make a claim. whereas the top 8 or so in Joe's time where pretty consistent.

damn, Mikkel Kessler and Sakio Bika are STILL top ten now. Bika wasn't top ten back when Joe was on top. :deal

well Veit isn't going to get the chance to prove whether he beats Rod or not because his time has come and gone. but i would definitely pick Veit if both were at their best. no doubt.

and yes, i've watched both fighters.

 

Firstly, JB's never won a title, he was upgraded, and for the divvy's belt too, the wbo one. Lost it straight away too. He lost it running from Cleverly! How bad is that?
