I here you pal but if she wasn't good enough I wouldn't let her nowhere near the gym...but she is good enough. At any point if I see her getting hurt too often or her enjoyment stop then I know its time to tell her no more. As her big brother I have a duty to protect her and that I will.
I dont know, one thing i think it will happen because of my love for the sport, so i would not say no to him if he asked me to train...
There is a video on youtube about a boxing and an mma prodigy. Just by hearing the way he speak I can tell that he has some sort of brain damage already although he is very young. I can identify the same sort of lousy articulation in some of the adult boxers who started at young age. It is a high risk sport and I would send mine just to know how to throw a punch and how to move. No sparring....
I work in the field of brain injury, trust me when I tell you. If you love your children you will not let them box.
definitely, i'm getting my son into it as early as he can, and if he wants to continue, great, if not its always a good skill to have
what sane man would want his son to risk brain damage? Do you think a day goers by that Mrs Momma McClellan doesn't wish her son hadn't boxed when shes emptying his bladder bag or washing his bum down for him? Theres a good reason why so many boxers come from broken homes.
Am a lifelong bachelor but if I'd have a son I would allow him to do boxing and martial arts for conditioning and sport. NEVER as a livelihood as it is far too dangerous and I'd be worried sick about the consequences if he got hurt. Knowing how much my dad hated his experience as a club fighter in Puerto Rico, and knowing the sadness of losing the grandson of my neighbors (Johnny Montantes of St Paul, MN), I could never go through that experience. Despite this, I (like my dad) always cherished pro boxing and it remains my passion (just as it was his). But I would never go into it or allow a family member to go into it as a pro.
I would hope that my (future) son doesnt want to be like me, because I fought to give him a better life. If he wants to though, there is nothing I can say to stop him that wouldnt be hypocritical being that I am making my pro debut next year
My son trains as a boxer but not to compete. It's a very healthy lifestyle, physically and mentaly :good :bbb
I have have trained/coached my son and my 2 daughters how to fight and defend themselves, not necessarily in a ring though.
