Toney was not a power puncher and additionally he was not at peak condition for that fight and drained (no fault of Jones)

We have the quotes from Big Roy that his son doesn't need to fight people that 'hit to hard' we have the Del Valle knockdown we have the handpicking of opponents and not fighting one damn savage puncher in his whole career and we have the brutal KO's on 3 different Continents.

We have all the evidence we need. Unfortunately Jones career was plagued by a lot of talk and 'talks' as Loudon would say not coming to fruition for Big Fights. It is inconceivable that it was the fault of the desired opponent considering how many different promoters and managers those failed talks would have included.

In conclusion, it is well known Roy Jones harbours one of the worst Glass Jaws in the sport. His Chin is abysmal and that is putting it as nice as I can. Not only can he not take a punch he is deathly scared to take a punch. Jones career is one of 'what ifs' and that falls squarely on his shoulders not the shoulders of any network, promoter, manager, etc. :good

Toney wasn't a power puncher now?? Toney carried his power all the way up to HW you fool.

I am surprised you don't think Roy was afraid of him after watching him knock the **** out of Michael Nunn.

Del Vaulle was a southpaw, that had decent power, this was Roy's third weight.. He caught Roy with a punch he didn't see coming, which was a good punch, but Roy did also slip a bit on the part of the wet canvass, that both fighters were slipping on all night.

Toney KOed nobody at Heavyweight and before you spout the Evander crap it was a punch on his shoulder/arm and he beat the count easily and was fine to continue and we both know the absolute bums Toney fought at Heavyweight and he couldn't KO any of them :rofl

Hopkins only avenged his loss to Jones after he was shot ,why didn't Hopkins fight him when Jones still had legs ? And Jones did beat 3 out the 4 ..And Collins lost to Johnson who RJJ beat with ease !

Yeah Hopkins has the deeper resume :rofl

Jones is twice more accomplished than Borenard ,DM ,and Collins yet you want to talk about how he carefully selected opponents

I know you are completely anti Roy, so no matter what I say to you will matter..

But Toney had sufficient power at HW, and rocked fighters there...

He also knocked Michael Nunn senseless at MW... Had Roy not fought him, you would be here running your mouth about how that scared Roy.:deal

A fighter with one punch power at MW, that can be a successful HW, has to have some power... They didn't call him "Lights Out" for punching light.:patsch

A well placed Toney counter at MW and SMW was a savage punch.. I don't care if you believe it or not. You don't fool anyone, usually the only ones who agree with you are picking Calzaghe's pubes from their teeth.:rofl:hi:

Hopkins would't move all the way up to LHW in 2002 to fight Roy claiming he was too big...

He four years later moved up and fought an even bigger Tarver, and in the post fight interview admitted he could have moved up 4 years earlier.

Joe Calzaghe and Bernard Hopkins wanted nothing to do with LHW while Roy was elite.:deal

He doesn't believe Makie, Michael, or Mind Reader, who is a state champion at wrestling that had to cut crazy weight every week in high school my senior year in wrestling..

Proof that professionally trained Spinks made LHW in 2 months apart at the closest time is supposed to make me believe that was his natural weight, when I used to starve myself and drain water as a young buck every weekend?:patsch

Oh yeah, we also have proof that his natural weight was around 190 with about 8% body fat..

Fat seems like a smart guy sometimes, but I think FatTheMan may be thinking about how much weight he could lose, and not all muscle 190 lb Michael Spinks.

Hopkins said he thought the stoppage against Danny Green was bad which justified him fighting Roy for the second time in 17 years..

He wanted none in 02... he should have taken 60-40 to get ass kicked and moved up to LHW like he later admitted he could have done.

That was a no lose high dollar situation for B.Hop, who I love by the way...

I saw that fight live and Calzaghe made Hopkins look like a fool...............Hopkins said he would never fight Kovalev or Stevenson, Hell, Kovalev was his mandatory, yet Hopkins refused, instead Hopkins wants to fight Void.............

    Hi mate,

I want to talk to you about your wrestling days, but I'll ask you next week, if that's ok?

I'm deeply saddened by the passing of John Garfield from the classic section.

    I'm sure you've heard.

What an incredible guy he was. I'm just reading some of his old threads and stories.

That guy had probably forgot more about boxing that what any of us will ever know.

I'm not really in the mood to debate at the moment.

He will be sadly missed. I'd have given anything to have had a beer with him and a chat.

If you've got the time, go onto check hook boxing, and read his tribute page. On the second page, there's a link to an article he wrote on Stillman's gym in NYC. The link is titled - JG Ringside.

I've just read it, it's fantastic.

Speak to you soon, have a great weekend.
