On the undercard, Tommy Oosthuizen retained his IBO super middleweight title with a narrow majority decision over Ezequiel Osvaldo Maderna. The challenger broke his nose and pushed hard late, with Oosthuizen looking in bad shape in the championship rounds but holding on.
Oosthuizen doesn't just have a Dutch name, he's also as mediocre as Dutch boxers have been troughout history.

Budler swings down a big left hook to chase Verchelli into a corner but doesn't follow. Verchelli ducks and fires a lead left to the belly of Budler, then stays low and circles away. Verchelli takes pot shots with his left, working from the body up to Budler's head from outside. Round 3 Budler is walking forward, throwing lead hooks up over the top and forcing Verchelli to move in and lean against him. Body shots by Budler. Looping rights on the side of the head as Verchelli scurries backward. Budler is walking through Verchelli's counter right jabs and flurrying on him. 10-9 Budler 30-27 Budler
Round 4 Budler is walking forward and pulling up short to catch Verchelli's straight left on his crossed forearms as Verchelli looks to spring a trap on him. Budler repeatedly gains more ground as Verchelli retreats and sets up another left hand lead ambush to no avail. BIG HOOK, Verchelli down while loading up a left as he thought Budler was going to shell up. Verchelli beats the count and circles quickly around the ring, wide away from Budler. Verchelli is pinned on the ropes. Budler hammers at him with more hooks and Verchelli crumbles. Stanley Christodoulou waives the count. TKO4!!
