According to the Daily Mail "Murray to fight hard-hitting Golovkin in Monte Carlo in February" Murray is reported to be getting 500K and Golovkin must be making more than that. Monte Carlo used to be a significant boxing destination in the 70's and 80's and Prince Albert is a huge fan he attended the Ishida fight and went into the ring afterwards to raise Golovkin's arm. I wonder if some investers are helping with the purse and trying to get it back on the boxing map? Edit - So Murray is fighting on the Monaco card but turned down the Golovkin offer FFS plus he has the WBA Interm belt and is Golovkin's mandatory. This is the third time they should have fought.
500K for a challenger is some serious Ducats if true. Golovkin is getting real backing now and along with his notoriety should help his ability to get the opponents we want to see him against in the ring.
Very good fight because we all know murray was robbed against martinez, but GGG will get 0 credit if he destroys murray. Like before the macklin fight for weeks I was hearing "macklin will make GGG look average, this fight will prove to see if he is the real deal or not" and still doubters.
This is the fight I wanted to see i had Murray beating Martinez 114-113 if Golovkin stops him then hes a beast I think Murray actually takes him the distance though
what if it goes the distance but GGG wins 8-4 or something like that? All we're going to hear is "GGG's power is overrated, ward kills him" blah blah blah because god forbid one of GGG's fights actually goes the full 12
They paid a Million Dollars for the SMW/LHW tourmament im sure they're willing to spend. Maybe because of K2 we'll get Usyk on the undercard.
